MSR Bite Valve

I purchase this because I thought I was getting what is actually shown in the picture. However, what I received was only the clear rubber bite mouthpiece. The red/black valve part shown in the picture (to which the rubber mouthpiece is affixed by sliding onto the red part of the red/black valve) is NOT included. I needed the whole assembly and not just one part of it. Sticking the mouthpiece onto a tube by itself is useless given that there is NO VALVE which will turn the flow of water on and off. Apparently, I need to buy the entire MSR hydration kit (for $20) which includes the assembly shown in this picture, the tubing and the cap in order to actually get what is shown in the picture for this item. If they are only selling the mouthpiece then they need to advertise it as such. A mouthpiece is not a "valve." The valve (red/black part) shown in the picture is a valve. I needed what was shown and not just a part of it. This is a grossly misleading advertisement and needs to be fixed. I realize we''re only talking about 6-7 dollars, but for that price, I SHOULD have gotten the whole assembly.

Really happy with the product overall but getting the initial fluid flowing requires a strong bite. I guess I would prefer that over one that was too loose though.

I used these with some 1/4" tubing from Home Depot, that connection worked great!

well, what more is there than it works when i drink, and doesn''t drip when i don''t. i still always set my bag on the valve in my car driving out to go hiking, but that''s user error. just replacing an old one i lost and had for several years. looked fine, worked like it did the day i got it. i trust few companies, but msr is one... i''ve had good experiences with all of their products i''ve used.

It doesn''t say it in the description, but there is a screw on the bottom that allows you to adjust the cage for all sorts of drink sizes. Never have to worry about it being to big/small....

I installed this on my bike in about 30 seconds. I like the feel of it and the fact that it adjusts easily with the turn of a screw (by hand). I think a cage that adjusts to bottle size with a spring, i.e. where you can pull back the outer part of the cage and let close on the bottle, would make more sense (it be faster and easier to use on the go than a screw) but ''it is what it is.''

Great water bottle cage. It adjusts to allow bigger bottles by a little knob on the bottom you can turn looser or tighten for smaller bottles. Easy to install, all you need is the two little screws that screw onto the frame of the bike. It doesn''t come with the screws though but most bikes have them already. If all you have are two holes there, then you''ll have to find/buy the correct screws to install. Hope this helps future purchasers!

I bought this cage to hold a Thermos 18-Ounce Stainless Steel Hydration Bottle, Charcoal It mounts and adjusts easily and it is easy to get my bottle in and out without a lot of looking at it/slowing down. The only thing I can say that even approaches a negative about this cage is that it does slightly mar the surface of the brushed aluminum on the bottle not scratch it, but you will be able to see where it contacted the bottle as you take it out and put it back in. It is very slight, and seems to mostly disappear when I rub the bottle, but it would not be fair to not mention it. It is also only fair to mention that Topeak makes an all-Nylon cage that I could have chosen if keeping my bottle in pristine appearance was all important. It wasn''t, I didn''t, and I am very happy with my choice.

This is an amazing water bottle. If you are willing to pay for top quality, cognizant of the value of getting something that lasts, this is the bottle for you. You could go through several cheap plastic water bottles during the lifetime of this one.

Overall I''m very pleased with these water bottles. I don''t usually add ice to my water but the lower section unscrewing is a great feature for cleaning the bottle. The top section is great because of the stainless wire to keep the top from getting away from you BUT the top connection is much looser than the lower connection and you may find that it loosens itself when you put it in your bag or backpack with other items. I use mine in a lone exterior bottle pocket and have not had a single issue but I can see how leaks could occur from the top section.

Chariot Child Carrier Hydration Cage

Chariot strollers have lots of pockets of various sorts, and I never lacked for a place to stash a water bottle if I wanted one. I have never even attached the Hydration Kit''s adult water bottle holder. However, the childs'' bottle is great. By keeping the water inside the stroller, the kids can drink when they want without calling for me to stop riding or jogging to hand them a bottle. The bottle is held firmly upright so it doesn''t spill, and with some practice, our three year old and four year old have no trouble retrieving the bottle and returning it to the mount afterwards.

For a single bottle, the kit is too expensive. The kids'' bottle is useful though.

Sigg Primeval Glow Water Bottle (Black)

In terms of quality, if you have seen one Sigg bottle, you have seen them all. They are all crafted aluminum with the (now) BPA free lining. They are durable, made in Europe (and not China) and have a price tag to match.

The only differentiating factor between them is design and this one is a fun design with glow in the dark dinosaurs that will be interesting and fun for young boys. While boys may find the glow in the dark dinosaurs are interesting they do not glow as much as the cap does (which glows alot).

Another thing to note is that the black finish shows scratches fairly easily which is tough because kids are rough on these bottles. The nice thing about the black finish is that a black Sharpie marker will do wonders for hiding those scratches (at least from a distance).

In sum a nice bottle with a fun design.

I have a 9yr old and 6yr old and have purchased many water bottles. These are the best and worth the price. They are durable and easy for kids to open and close! They wash well and we''ve never lost a part. This bottle is particularly awesome because it glows in the dark!

Picnic Plus Bottle Sling

This sling is fantastic. The design will easily hold a bottle of wine not to mention bottles up to 24 ounces in size for carrying water on long treks. It keeps your water as cold as you wish for the entire day. No kidding. I add about 10 cubes to a 20ounce water bottle, add room temp water, zip it up in this sling and carry it in my backpack on 4-5 hour bike rides. It is GREAT to enjoy ice cold water 4 hours into a 50 mile ride. I bought two of them and don''t regret the purchase one bit.

My only suggestion would be to make a future version with a detachable strap it would be easier to stuff in a moderately sized back pack. But this is minor.
