Hint: don''t freeze the bladder unless you plan on a two-day hike; it stays frozen /really/ well. ;-)
Buy Nalgene Wide Mouth Cantene Now
This is my pee bottle. On those frigid nights when I don''t want to step outside of the tent to answer nature''s call, it does its job and it does it well. It goes into the bottom of the sleeping bag so it doesn''t freeze before morning. It hasn''t yet leaked (thank goodness). After being emptied out in the morning, tt goes back into my pack where it takes up minimal space.I can''t think of a better pee bottle for winter backpacking. :)I own, and have exclusively used these canteens for about 10 years. When not in use, they roll/fold and take up very little pack space. Not one of them has cracked, burst, or leaked. I''ve even thrown a full one as high as I could to demonstrate its durability to a skeptical trail buddy...he still owes me 20 bucks for losing the bet. I just received this cantene today. I filled it up and held it by the loop. (which in the picture it is a slit, but the one i received is a loop circle about a inch and a half size.) But the cantene held up good. Just from shaking and holding the cantene by the loop. I beleive if i hook it to my pack that it will not rip. But i have not used it in the backcountry yet. and when i do maybe i will update this review. but as of right now i am very pleased of the product and of GearX. i recieved it in three days. That is with the cheap standard shipping.

Buy Puralytics SolarBag Water Purifier (3-Litre) Now
We camp multiple times each season and prefer sites off the grid. Some have running water that is treated onsite, some are wells, some are open water sources. This year we used the SolarBag for our water purifier, and the water taste was significantly improved, was very simple to use, and we just put it out while we were doing something else. Two recommendations let the water cool overnight and then fill your water bottles in the morning, and use a pan or something to scoop from the stream and pour into the SolarBag.Read Best Reviews of Puralytics SolarBag Water Purifier (3-Litre) Here
The Best Investment that i made ever towards my health and i recouped this money in about 3 hiking trips. I Strongly recommend Solarbag. I also use this at home. I bought two of them and use it at home for drinking water treatment. I live in Seattle, WA and it really treats water even in cloudy days. Thanks to inventors.. now i stopped buying water bottles from Costco saving around $60/month. It''s an ultimate buy. Go Solarbag!!!.I used this solar water purifier in Uganda where is the past I had always drunk only bottled water. It apparently was very effective, as I had no gastrointestinal or other ill effects. I bought it to use it with, but it was a big mistake, it might be a good product, but not to use with the Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Bottle.
Something I did not like about this M-Wave Bottle Cage is the fact this this is built from aluminum, but the bolts the come with are not from aluminum, they are iron bolts, which might become rusted.
That is why I just gave It 4 stars.Mounted easily on my bike, it looks great and it holds my water bottle in place no matter the terrain. Has a slick look.

XLAB Turbo Wing Save 7% off

One thing to be aware of is that this won''t work with Xlab''s own P-Cages. The reason is because the P-Cage uses very thick plastic in the bolt area. The plastic is too thick for the bolts that come with the Turbo Wing to reach. Using other bolts may be possible but the Turbo Wing is very much designed to work in one specific way, so using other mounting hardware is a bit of a PITA.
That said, there are inexpensive bottle cages that are thinner in the mounting area that will work just fine. Xlab would like you to buy their $60 gorilla cages but there are others out there that will work, too.
I''ve got it set up with the inflation holder that they sell seperately. The Turbo Wing comes with a set of velcro straps that you can use to attach a bag. I''ve got two bottle cages, the inflation holder (2 CO2 cartridges and an inflator head) along with with Xlab mini bag. The mini bag can be strapped in to one side of the inflation holder when the CO2 cartridges are already on. It''s a tight fit but it will work. If you need to hold more stuff, you could strap the Xlab tire bag under the Turbo Wing. You know what a water bottle is? That plastic thing which holds water or gatorade while you go riding? This thingy holds them in a better, more aerodynamic position behind your derriere, so they''re out of the way and out of the wind. Buy one of these, and one of them fancy aerodynamic cages for your frame, and you''ve got 3 water bottles on you. Easy options for attaching CO2 and spare tubes, what more could you ask for?
Well, how about a better price for one? Paying 50 leaves for two pieces of metal and a couple of nuts and bolts seems ridiculous, but I suppose the same could be said for alot of things; just look at the price of diamonds or petrol. At least here, you''ve paid for innovation and artistic design. It holds strong to your saddle and can''t flex or bend over bumps (like profile design ones have been said to). Just buy yourself some p-cages or gorilla cages, and you should be sweet!I bought two of these for different bikes. The mounting hardware came loose on both, although they were tightened properly. They are constantly coming loose and falling off, which also leads to bottles ejecting. To make matters worse, small replacement parts are $10 $15! I''m ready for something else. I know I''m not alone with this problem.
