I bought this pack for my wife as a present. When it arrived there were loose threads hanging out all over it. i am not being picky here literally it was almost like fringe. It was as though the person making the bag didn''t take the time to clean up the threads. I sat down and clipped off all of the loose threads. Didn''t want to do that but didn''t want to send it back. My wife loaded the pack with a relatively light load. Approximately 8 10 pounds. The sternum, strap immediately malfunctioned and would not reopen. I may have simply gotten a bad one. It happens. But I don''t think I will ever consider another one from this company unless I can see it hanging on a rack and examine it first.

I couldn''t resist this fannypack for less than $35 as I''m sure it will come in handy during hunting and fishing trips and possibly day hikes. Here are my initial impressions. The pack is well made and has four quick release points for added accessories. The fabric does seem to have a waterproof coating on it. Pockets galore and more spacious than I anticipated. You can lash a jacket on top, in the front, or even on the bottom if you add another set of straps as there are two lashing points on the bottom. There are also 4 D-rings; one on each side of the belt and one on each shoulder strap. There are two main compartments with a flap that conceals the zipper to keep moisture out. The only negative that I see as of now is if you are a large waisted person, the belt may be too small. I wear a 38-40" waist belt and the pack fits good. A 46" waist may be a snug fit

Nice looking and very functional for hiking and hunting. But the belly strap is a little short My son (275#, 6''5, XXX size) will have to add additional webbing to encompass his middle. The package took a month to arrive because FedEx or the Post Office did not tell me it had arrived (PO Box). Was sent back to Allen and they next sent it by UPS with no hangups or extra charge. The Allen Co. is great to work with. Good customer service. Will buy more camping gear from them in the future.

I hunt big game up in Northern MN. This is a great product that I would put against any major name brand comparable unit that is 2x more $$$.. I am able to put extra clothing (hat, gloves, rain gear), field dressing gear (knife, gloves, saw, deer drag, small thermos, GPS, back up flash light, ammo, binoculars, and still have more room and can hike 2-3 miles comfortably. this is very durable and has some great compartments to help keep gear organized and. you can take it on/off easily even with my climbing harness on once in my small hang on tree stand.
