As a veteran of reusable bottles, I am the most pleased with this versatile item. It is very solid with no wasted space on "ergonomics," and screwing apart for easy cleaning makes it indispensable. It holds up well with cold and hot liquids, and for my habits, it has the perfect liquid capacity.

Not a great investment for the cost. It makes the water taste tinny and makes me wonder if the seam is soldered with lead??? Great design, but my other stainless water bottle doesn''t give the water a metallic taste.

I purchased this product after needing a new water bottle and remembering that it was reviewed positively in the Seattle Times. I''ve only used it 4 times in total so far and have come across several problems:

#1 The part where the top-half goblet screws onto the bottom-half leaks!

#2 It is not well-insulated. If you pour hot water in for coffee or tea, the bottle is too hot to touch. If you use ice cubes and cold water, condensation forms all over the outside of the bottle.

#3 The screw on cap is attached to the bottle with a circular plastic ring. When you drink, the ring keeps on running towards the top of the bottle, so you end up with the plastic ring going into your mouth!

#4 And finally, the plastic that is used to attach the screw on cap broke today, just the 5th time I have used the bottle so far! The screw on cap is completely separated from the bottle now.

In short, do not buy this product.

I have been using this bottle for a couple months now and it serves everything I wanted out of a multiple piece travel bottle, but one small issue. The seal that is to prevent leaking between the two pieces actually leaks frequently if the top is secured. I have watched this over the past couple weeks and the problem is that the ''seam'' on the aluminum creates a channel and the water pressurizes its way up the seam from within and then bubbles out of the ''seal''. This is minor as I use it at my desk, but I wouldnt want my water source leaking if I were to go outdoors. I have tried almost everything to fix this issue but the seam continues to leak whenever filled and the top is tightly fastened.

Overall great product tho!

I am a tea lover. For a while I''ve been looking for a bottle in which I can carry my tea and not to worry about removing stains out of the bottle. This two part bottle made my life whole lot easier. Before buying the item I was worried about the leakage but turns out I was worried about nothing. The bottle does not leak. Few things that do not like about this bottle are:

(1) Because it is made of stainless steel, you have to wash it veeeerrrryyyy well before using it (otherwise you''ll have the metallic taste in your drink),

(2) It does not insulate

(3) The plastic band holding the cap to the bottle is very weak (mine broke off after 1 month or so)

(4) The logo on top of the cap rubs off. It ended up staining my backpack. For awhile I could not figure out what was staining my bag. Later I noticed the top of the cap was a bit sticky like the plastic melting feeling (I did not put them in dishwasher) and the logo was half gone.

I don''t know if I would buy it again. I got the bottle because it was fairly cheap compare to other 2-part bottles. But I think I would try ALEX next time.
