I bought this at Marshall''s the other day for a lovely price of $4.99. The shape attracted me first and then once I held it the quality and good weight of the lid sold me. I am using it for a second day today and am quite pleased.I know what you are thinking. "But cupholders are round." True, but the Honda Fit has square ones aswell. This fits, but it tapers a little too wide after about an inch. Also it is nice to have a drink bottle that doesn''t roll away if knocked over as well as one that stands out from everyone else.Buy Waterbox Square Tritan Water Bottle Now
I like to carry water in hip packs, but I don''t like the plastic taste that''s typical of the supplied soft bottles. For years I''ve substituted hard plastic bottles with a circular cross section. I''d always thought that something flatter, more like a hip flask or canteen, would make a lot more sense. Answering my wish is the Waterbox. The square cross-section of the Waterbox allows this water bottle to fit flatter against the hips, resulting in potentially less bounce. It''s also an inch shorter than the same volume bottles by Camelbak and Nalgene, which further reduces bottle movement when walking quickly or running.
The bottle is tapered, and the widest part is wider than that of the same volume Camelbak and Nalgene bottles. It will fit tightly into many waistpack bottle holsters, but some, such as those by Ultimate Direction or the Camelbak Delaney Race, it will not fit at all.
It does fit some other Camelbak packs, including my standard Delaney and also my Stamina II (both about two years old). I''ve used these bottles for a few months now with these two packs on hikes and runs, and I have not been tempted to go back to my other bottles with circular cross-sections.
The cap is a unique diameter, disallowing use of the Camelbak caps with straws or after-market caps made for Camelbak or Nalgene bottles. The supplied cap is somewhat heavy and bulky.
The plastic is BPA-free and taste-free Eastman Tritan, the same hard plastic as currently used by Nalgene and Camelbak.

I bought one of these from REI a few days ago. It was actually a few dollars more than it sells for from Amazon. It is as it says, no smell whatsoever, an unusual shape that nonetheless fits quite well in your hand. It''s a little larger than the average bottle but still small enough to fit into my small lunch cooler. Using one of these instead of disposable water bottles is so much more eco-conscious I am embarrassed that I only started doing this recently. This is an extremely well made product. The design is both functional and "artsy". The cap is odd but interesting and quite functional as it makes it easy to tighten close and twist off. Also the square shape of the bottle fits quite well in my small cooler along side a second bottle or a sandwich. I like the fact that it holds slightly more water than a standard disposable water bottle without being too big. It''s a little different but I am finding that I enjoy using it as much as it makes me feel better about not using quite so many disposable bottles.I am going to buy more of these in different colors so that when we go out as a family it will be easy to identify who has which bottle. This is a fun, inexpensive product that is well designed and will help you do the right thing by your planet. Buy one, or two or three!
