Nalgene Tritan Wide Mouth BPA-Free Water Bottle

Nalgene BPA Free Tritan Wide Mouth Water Bottle, 32 Oz, Gray with Black LidYou can''t go wrong with this. When I was in college, my roommate and I decided to test the structural integrity of a Nalgene. We were, for reasons which I cannot fully reconstruct, irritated at the structural perfection of the thing. Didn''t matter what one did to it, it would not break. We were tired of having our flaws and inadequacies sneered at by this inanimate plastic thing, so perfect at it''s job, so faithful, so unpossessed of anything even approaching a flaw. Nothing, we reasoned, has any business being perfect. So, we chucked my full Nalgene out of a third-floor window. It landed on concrete with a terrific SMACK!, which startled the hell out of this annoying girl who just happened to be standing close by, and bounced about five feet in the air before coming to rest, entirely unscathed. People seemed shocked, but we were not even a bit surprised. This thing is so solid, it''s really kind of incredible. Like Chase Utley, the Godfather, the Hope diamond, Abbey Road, the chicken nugget, I cannot imagine an improvement. It''s just so... perfect. If you''re not totally thrilled with one of these, I don''t know what to tell you. It''s just that good.

I''ve been using this a few weeks so far, and it seems very sturdy. I attach it to my bag with a carabiner and have seen no signs of breakage while hiking with the bottle. I love that the bottle doesn''t leak, and it''s a BPA-free product (good for me, good for the environment). Plus, I have not noticed any unusual smell/taste while drinking from the bottle (unlike most reusable plastic bottles), but I have not tried hot beverages in it yet. The wide-mouth IS very convenient for ice cubes and cleaning. Highly recommended!

I love my nalgene for these reasons:

-Easy to clean

-Holds a ton of ice

-Freezable / Microwaveable

-Recyclable

-Made in the USA

-Almost indestructible.

What else would I need in a water bottle? I guess if you wanted it to fit in a car cupholder, get one of the smaller models. I just throw it on the passenger seat and love that the bottle holds a liter of water.

I''ve used Nalgene brand water bottles for about 10 years now and I''ve never had any complaints. The bottles are sturdy (I sure have dropped mine a lot!) and they are easy to clean in the dishwasher. However, I was recently concerned when the potential dangers of BPA were discussed in the news. I had decided to replace my trusty Nalgene with a stainless steel bottle when I saw that Nalgene now made a BPA-free bottle.

The BPA version is just like the old Nalgene, but safer. No complaints other than the fact that all of the different sizes and shapes of bottles that Nalgene used to offer are not available in the BPA-free versions. I''m sure they''re coming--but this bottle will do for now.

I love my Nalgene! I have never put hot liquids in mine, but I love that it''s easy to put lots of ice in it, and with the little sipper accessory you can buy it''s fantastic b/c the ''ice dam'' never breaks & you can drink it while you''re driving and not worry about getting wet. I''ve had mine for 2 years now & still using the same 1! I have a spare, just incase this one breaks or gets lost. I find them VERY sturdy b/c I''ve droped mine a bunch of times & it''s never cracked. It''s fallen off the top of the car, out of the car, my 4 year old has dropped it. I think it''s virtually indestructable. My sister has the Sigg bottle & it''s dented in several areas (whatcha expect from alumunm?) Anyway I like my Nalgene better than her Sigg, and mine was less than 1/2 the price of hers!
