I spilled hot coffee on my face the first time I used this. When you push the button to open the drinking spout, coffee can easily leak out from behind the button. And if the bottle is tilted back far enough, youll get hot coffee spilling out. Onto your face. And you''ll look like an idiot.

I originally received this mug as a gift and loved it. After a few months of use, it started to have a weird taste. I finally realized it was a mildew/mold taste and smell. I contacted Stanley about it, and all I received were cleaning instructions. Thinking they wouldn''t do anything else, I just ordered another (hey, it kept my tea warm for hours and was easy to use and clean).

I just received my new thermos and after trying to use it once, the lid leaked all over, spilling hot tea all over me. The lid was as tight as it could be, but I could still see a slight gap between the lid and body. It seemed once water got under the rubber seal, there was no way to get the leaking to stop. I let it dry out, and tried to use it again the next daysame thing!

I again contacted Stanley, but have yet to get a reply. I''m going to try to return it, if Amazon will take it back. Very dissatisfied with quality and customer service!

Bought this product at another retailer and am about to buy my second one here on Amazon.

I''ve used many travel coffee mugs over the years and have yet to find one that is equal to this in keeping my coffee/tea hot for over 4-5 hours, completely spill proof, combined with a lid that is easy to take apart and clean.

Many coffee mugs will have some of these qualities. However this mug has it all. I used to hate having to use a coffee mug with a lid that I couldn''t take apart. I would never be able to know what kind of bacteria would be growing inside the lid mechanism. This lid comes apart into three pieces and is quite easy to clean with a dish-brush or sponge.

The only one flaw i found was even though it says the lid is ''dishwasher safe'', the one time I put the lid in the dishwasher, my coffee/tea tasted like soap for the next month. I soaked it in boiling hot water and that got rid of the soapy taste. However, its entirely possible that it could have been caused by my dishwasher, or maybe the location of the lid in the dishwasher, maybe it didn''t get a good enough rinse. Regardless, you will be washing the mug itself by hand anyways so may as well wash the lid by hand as well.

Some of the previous reviews for this mug state that people spilled coffee on themselves. This is most likely because they didn''t put the lid back together correctly, which almost happened to me once. Just need to be a bit careful when you put it back together.

This may lead you to think its more of a hassle than anything but once you use this mug and use it''s lid, you will see why its the cleanest, most hygienic coffee mug on the market. Combined with that its 100% spill proof (I would know because I drive an old jeep where nothing stays still) and keeps my beverage hot for 4-5 hours.

I work in construction, and occasionally go for 6-7 hours without a chance to refill the coffee or soda in my cup. This light mug works well, and because it''s slim, fits in every cupholder I''ve come across. If you buy one with paint applied, the paint will scratch off easily, but this was of no concern to me. Over the past 4 months of everyday use, it has been through a few minor drops without affecting functionality. I have had no problem with the button mentioned in several other reviews, which acts as a vent to allow liquid to more freely travel through the lid. Unless you turn the cup completely upside down to drink, I don''t understand how you would have any trouble.
