KOR Vida BPA Free Water Bottle

KOR Vida BPA Free Water Bottle, Anthracite, 750 mlPart of the allure of buying products from relatively unknown companies online is that you somehow expect that the product is more/or will do more than what it''s set out to do. If such is the case, you''ll be disappointed to learn that this water bottle, despite is alien-like logo and unconventional design, does nothing but carry water. If you, however, expect this water bottle to serve nothing but it''s stated purpose, then you''ll be pleased to know that it does just that. And now that I''ve gotten that out of the way, I''ll start justifying why I paid too much to buy this bottle.

First of all, this is far from the best bang for the buck you can get online on water bottles. For close to 25 dollars in tax + shipping, you can easily buy an equally sturdy and volumetric BPA-free water bottle from other companies (SIGG, Camelbak, etc.) That being said, for the aforementioned price you do get exactly your money''s worth in the sleek design and the clever mechanics of the "perfect spout" water delivery system. As pretentious as it soumds, the "perfect spout" does actually make the difference when compared to the other water bottles I have; this water bottle does not involve me biting and sucking (yes, that is indeed what she said) like I do with my Camelbak, and for a bottle that''s designed to hold 750ml of liquid, the spout is neither too big that I spill water on myself (like I do with my SIGG, and my Nalgene bottle) nor too small to cause a bottleneck like... most bottles with a neck (i.e. Aquafina, Spring Arrow, etc.)

Oh and for those of you who do not know what the "perfect spout" is referring to, it''s just a small semi-concave groove layer inside the spout that''s designed to anatomically form around the shape of the human mouth (big words to describe a very simple and small concept, I assure you.)

In conclusion, yes this is a great--albeit expensive--water bottle. No, it does not do any tricks when you look away.

I''ve had this bottle for over a month now, and it''s worked perfectly so far. For any that don''t know, it is important that you clean out the steel bottle thoroughly first (hot water and a little lemon juice work well) before drinking from it. There should be no metallic taste if you''ve done this properly. I far prefer drinking out of this to the plastic bottle that I used to carry around. With plastic bottles, even BPA free ones, I felt as if water that had sat around for too long still acquired an odd taste to it, particularly at the bottom of the bottle. This is not the case with the KOR Vida. And, unlike most steel bottles, it still gives you the comfort of a plastic spout at the top, which really is just the right size. While the plastic spout is usually big enough to fill the bottle easily, it can be removed if you need more space, i.e. to insert ice cubes. It''s a little bit of effort to get the spout off, but not too bad.

Note that if you remove the spout, it IS important that you align the cap carefully when screwing it back on, and that you don''t screw things too tight. Once I over-zealously tried to tighten my bottle to prevent it from leaking, and I had the opposite effect of causing the plastic to slide past the metal grooves, creating a small passage in which water could escape. I now tighten the bottle with a reasonable level of force (there''s a noticeable ''click'' when this happens), and I''ve had no issues since.

Pros:

-Looks great

-Water tastes great

-Comfortable to drink from

-Handle is comfortable and easy to hold

Cons:

-Cheaper options exist (but not with all the same features)

beautiful bottle, i was REALLY happy with the delta but since I am a heavy duty bottle drinker and on the go i dropped it many times and the plastic hinge broke due to my abuse. I opted for the stainless steel vida. Like the other KOR bottle it is made of quality materials, a beautiful design, and feels great in your hand and on your lips.. but this model leaks so I cannot throw it in my bag and must carry it by hand (going to try to clip it with a large carabiner onto my bag so it''ll stay upright) :(

Love it. Its so lightweight and I adore the clean design of it. The top doesn''t always go on easily so I did have a leak once in my gym bag but know that I know I just make sure to double check before I chuck it in my bag.

This was the perfect bottle for me. The mouth isn''t too wide so water doesn''t spill when drinking, it hold the right amount of water for me without being too heavy and, lets face it, it''s super stylish!
