This says it is a universal bottle adaptor for all MSR Filters. MSR''s website sucks and has no information either. This is only meant to hook to filters that have an output HOSE. My filter hooks directly to a nalgene bottle and did not have a hose. Fortunately, there still is a little nub on the inside that I''m going to be hooking some silicone tubing to so I can use the bottle adaptor. It would not be hard for MSR to redesign this so it has the hose nub and also male nalgene threads so it can screw into their other filters. I got this so that I could hook it to the other items it says it will hook to; 2 liter bottles, narrow mouth nalgenes, etc.If this were re-designed so that it would attatch to ALL filters using EITHER a hose or male nalgene threads then I would have rated it a 5.
Update: I used I think it was 1/8" latex tubing to hook up to the nub. I used this at a camping trip this way last march and it worked well, the tubing hooked up to the nub on the adaptor (how it is supposed to be hooked up) and also to the nub on my filter (NOT the way it was supposed to be hooked up). Basically, this is a 5 star product for what it is intended for. However, the manufacturers and sellers information is non-existant, so you cannot tell that it is only meant for filters that output via tubing.MSR does not help with this contraption. Unfortunately for me, it doesn''t fit some of my bottles. I''ve played around with it and find no practical use for me. It has not made a trip with me for it has been useless. I don''t need the extra weight when other methods work roughly the same.
