MSR Alpine 1000ml Stainless Steel Bottle

I purchased on the suggestion of a friend, and am now picking up my second (one for the office, one for the gym/home). The main thing that sets this bottle apart from the others is the lid and the mouth of the opening. I find it to be the perfect size for letting me get as much water as I want, without it being too wide for water to easily spill. Most other bottles seem to just let the water trickle out, or if you take the lid off, the water goes everywhere. My friend has had an issue with the opening leaking when the bottle lies on it''s side, but I have not experienced this. I''m also careful not to let it rest on it''s side. The bottle is a little wider than some other bottles, so it may not fit in all car cup holders, but it seems to fit fine in the gym equipment cup holders.

This bottle fits the Maxpedition EDC shoulder bag very well. Like any thin-walled stainless steel bottle, it will dent easily if accidentally dropped. The trend seems to be towards bottles with straws and "custom" graphics to express your individuality, but for those who feel they can express such things in more creative ways, this is a fine choice.

I have gone through 2 of these bottles already and on my 3rd. they last quite a long time and they keep liquid colder for longer then any other steel bottle I''ve used. Love this bottle its prefect. would strongly recomend.
