XLAB Turbo Wing Save 7% off

XLAB Turbo WingLike all of Xlab''s "Wing" products, this isn''t cheap but it does exactly what it sets out to do. You can position the wing at different angles and can also position the bottle cages at different angles.

One thing to be aware of is that this won''t work with Xlab''s own P-Cages. The reason is because the P-Cage uses very thick plastic in the bolt area. The plastic is too thick for the bolts that come with the Turbo Wing to reach. Using other bolts may be possible but the Turbo Wing is very much designed to work in one specific way, so using other mounting hardware is a bit of a PITA.

That said, there are inexpensive bottle cages that are thinner in the mounting area that will work just fine. Xlab would like you to buy their $60 gorilla cages but there are others out there that will work, too.

I''ve got it set up with the inflation holder that they sell seperately. The Turbo Wing comes with a set of velcro straps that you can use to attach a bag. I''ve got two bottle cages, the inflation holder (2 CO2 cartridges and an inflator head) along with with Xlab mini bag. The mini bag can be strapped in to one side of the inflation holder when the CO2 cartridges are already on. It''s a tight fit but it will work. If you need to hold more stuff, you could strap the Xlab tire bag under the Turbo Wing.

You know what a water bottle is? That plastic thing which holds water or gatorade while you go riding? This thingy holds them in a better, more aerodynamic position behind your derriere, so they''re out of the way and out of the wind. Buy one of these, and one of them fancy aerodynamic cages for your frame, and you''ve got 3 water bottles on you. Easy options for attaching CO2 and spare tubes, what more could you ask for?

Well, how about a better price for one? Paying 50 leaves for two pieces of metal and a couple of nuts and bolts seems ridiculous, but I suppose the same could be said for alot of things; just look at the price of diamonds or petrol. At least here, you''ve paid for innovation and artistic design. It holds strong to your saddle and can''t flex or bend over bumps (like profile design ones have been said to). Just buy yourself some p-cages or gorilla cages, and you should be sweet!

I bought two of these for different bikes. The mounting hardware came loose on both, although they were tightened properly. They are constantly coming loose and falling off, which also leads to bottles ejecting. To make matters worse, small replacement parts are $10 $15! I''m ready for something else. I know I''m not alone with this problem.
