I live in Brazil so I couldn''t order this item from Amazon. When I first saw it in a local shop here, I was really excited about it because it has a very nice design and the idea of the shaker is pretty good. Being able to store powder and liquid separately could be useful for many people.

Then, I came to Amazon.com as I always do before buying a product, in order to read the reviews. For my surprise, the reviews were really bad and I was disappointed. As it isn''t very expensive I decided to give it a try anyway.

After 1 week using it, here are my impressions:

The plastic is really strong and feels high quality

The cup is really large. It can store up to 550ml(18.6oz) of liquid. (Maybe more, but then you lose the space you need for shaking it)

The colors are also really nice. (Sometimes the products don''t match the advertisement picture, but this one is as good-looking as advertised)

When using ON Gold Standard Whey and shaking vigorously it mixes perfectly. I tried mixing with a spoon once and also with a small electric mixer but it wasn''t as well dissolved as after 40-50seconds of vigorous shaking.

It does NOT have any strong plastic smell you usually notice in cheap bottles.

And most importantly, it did NOT leak in any ways. I followed the instructions provided with the shaker and I haven''t experience any leakage at all. The powder stays in the right compartment, I''ve tried to shake it while still closed, to see if it leaked and mixed with the water. Nothing. The water kept clean. After I opened it, I shook it in order to mix and it didn''t leak in the inside cap or to the exterior of the bottle. No leaking at all.

However, as you can see, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Why is it ?

It''s because this shaker has one really big downside. The powder compartment is too small.

What is the point having such a big cup when it can barely store 1&1/2 round scoops ?

If the reservoir was bigger I''d certainly give it 5 stars because it works perfectly as described.

I love this shaker.

Apparently others are having issues with leaking and the powder not mixing, I too was a little confused at first, but READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY and this thing works like a charm (ex. the top lid clicks twice so nothing leaks, and the order of how you screw down the different pieces is important so the chamber stays like a vacuum). Fits about a 1.5 scoops easily and shakes out to perfectly smooth mixture. This thing also looks pretty awesome if you ask me.

If you want a simple protein shaker, no frills and easy to clean, then I would suggest look elsewhere. If you dont mind a 5 minute learning curve and some moving parts, give this thing a shot!

The Shaker Pro is made in Germany and it shows. Its a highly technical design (for a shaker bottle) that takes a bit of learning but it works flawlessly. It has about 5 parts and screws together three different ways. Once you learn how to work it, however, it NEVER leaks. Not a drop. I''ve tried all the others; sooner or later, they all leak. One reviewer said it was "cheap" plastic, which perplexed me because the quality is much better than the rest of the junk out there. After a year and a half it doesn''t show a bit of wear.

No, I''m not astounded at how great this cup is, but at all the reviewers who are complaining about how these cups suck and leak like crazy. I give these people 2 stars out of 5 at life. While properly using this cup does require slightly more brain power and work than let''s say, oh a normal blender ball cup. It''s not rocket science, and it comes with directions, directions with pictures at that! This cup works, this cup does not leak, this is a high quality cup and it looks pretty nice to boot imho. Only reason I didn''t give it 5 stars is because I wish it had a small screw on compartment on the bottom for pills. On my quest to become the next Arnold I''m constantly popping pills. If they make a version with this I will buy it and give it 5 stars. I''m still blown away at the reviews stating how these leak so badly. Maybe I should make a 12 minute tutorial video on Youtube so these people can become educated in the tricky art of using a cup. A suggestion for these reviewers, maybe you should stick to a spill proof sippy cup like my 2 year old niece uses. And don''t feel too bad you can''t figure out a cup, I''m pretty sure my niece would have problems with the Pro 40 cup too. So take solace in the fact you''re not alone here.

Cons: spout on top could be a big bigger, and would be better if closer to the side, but both of those are just personal preferences. Also they could have included one of those wire wisks, they do work beautifully and could only aid in the mixing process here. Not that this cup does a bad job, I also like those wisks because when I shake it makes a uberly annoying sound my roommates don''t like much. Which is probably multiplied by the fact I tend to shake my protein shakes for 2 solid minutes as hard as I can. And if I don''t chug it, I''m capping and re-shaking it every few sips.

Also to the reviews complaining about how it leaves a lot of clumps, might I suggest a better brand of protein? BSN''s Syntha-6 & MusclePharm''s Combat both mix extremely well and leave no clumps in this cup. And lastly, to people complaining about it being to small, it holds a decent amount of liquid, seeing how the powder resivour is fairly small and only holds 40 grams (hence the name pro 40) I think it holding the amount of liquid it does makes sense. They have the Pro 60, which holds about 10 more ounces of water + 20 more grams of powder. And the Pro 100 which holds something like 40 ounces and 100 grams of powder. If you need something larger than the Pro 100, I suggest you use a Double Gulp(tm) cup from 7-11 to mix your protein shakes in. Takes a little getting used to, but corrects a major problem with having to wait to mix you pre, or post workout drink. Very convenient and makes a lot of sense.
