PROS: Holds a lot a liquor, maybe too much! It does have a nifty cap with measuring though. Molded for slipping in and out of bags, packs, etc. Textured sleeve for holding with a glove etc. Clear container makes monitoring consumption easier.CONS: This product at 18 oz is big and does not fit into a pocket very easily. The material is thin and slightly pliable which makes me worry that it may not handle temp extremes very well without become brittle (like being stored in camping gear in the garage in Texas).
Overall, this is the hot ticket if you are looking to carry 18 oz of liquor, or something. We are getting the smaller size too for more portability.I too use this for water. I work with hot pizza ovens and the company will not allow us too have water bottles behind the counter, so I keep this flask in my front pocket. I use it everyday and refill it 3 or 4 times a day, it works great. It''s rugged enough that it takes a knocking around in my front pocket. As far as a funky smell, not with mine. Of course, I rinse mine out every night and let it air dry, uncapped. Your mouth has a lot of bacteria and it back washes into the flask. With alcohol that''s not a problem, alcohol kills bacteria, water and bacteria love each other. You have too wash water bottles, any water bottle. This is perfect to carry water in my backpack on trips throughout the city or to gym classes. The shape means that you can keep it upright easier as opposed to a standard bottle shape. It does not leak. It''s also a great conversation starter since people ask what alcohol I''m drinking. This flask was great. If you want a flask for a multi-day backpacking trip this is the one for you. I recently took it on a five day hike to the top of mount Whitney where my friends and I toasted the sun rise with this flask form the highest peak in the lower 48.The plastic cracked severely after only using it for 2 wks!!!! Terrible! I used it for a water bottle rather than typical flask. I don''t know how it broke, it was not stepped on or crushed in any way. I did toss it into my gym bag but that did not receive any impact or rough handling at all. I took a sip from it and the water literally dribbled through a hole in the plastic and all over my shirt! I previously had a similar Nalgene plastic flask and it lasted over a year with no breaks. Unfortunately that one was not BPA free and also developed a funky smell after that length of time so I had to ditch it, otherwise I''d still be using it. The search for a good flask water bottle continues...
