I''ve been using my Hydros Bottle for a little over 2 months now, and I don''t know how I survived without it before! I''m a water snob and always hated the taste of my Brita water pitcher, the water treated with my Brita filter always tasted like pesticides and chlorine. I was amazed at the quality of taste from my Hydros Bottle, I fill it from the same water source I would fill my Brita yet the water now tastes like Trader Joes brand spring water, crisp and delicious.I''m not one to read directions, so assembling my bottle (and removing the plastic from the filter) took longer than expected, however once I glanced at the directions it all came together and I assembled the lid in no time. I have not experienced any leaking like i read in other reviews EXCEPT when you turn the bottle completely upside down and shake it, I then have a couple of dribbles come out.
The other thing that I admire greatly about the Hydros bottle is their Operations Hydros program, where part of their proceeds are going to clean water projects. I think this is beyond valuable since over 90 percent of illness in third world countries is from contaminated water.
Also, it is easy to clean (dishwasher safe) and I look especially sporty/ eco friendly at the gym. I appreciate how durable the plastic is and that it is BPA free, so unlike other plastic bottles, it does not leech synthetic estrogen (scary stuff) into my water.
Once you go Hydros, you don''t go back to full price ''designer'' water.I have been hearing so much lately about water bottles that filter tap water so I decided to look into my options. I came across Hydros Bottle one day on Forbes.com and was impressed by the company''s mission to bring clean water to countries who lack it through the proceeds from their bottle sales. The company was listed in that Forbes article with TOMS shoes and related companies I was pretty sure I would be happy with it so I bought one. One major thing that convinced me to buy the bottle was how the filter worked. Instead of drinking through a stick like filter from other brands Hydros designed their filter to do the work right when you pour the tap water in and you drink from a separate area. I thought that was pretty genius and wondered why no one thought of that before.
The Hydros Bottle produced nice and crisp tasting water. I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the filter worked. The bottle was easy to use and now I take it with me pretty much everywhere. It is durable and BPA free so sun exposure was no longer a concern. A HUGE money saver product! I went to Disneyland with the bottle and did not spend a dime on drinks that day! I am also going to take it with me to Asia this fall and use it to save money (the trip is way over my budget.) This bottle has come in handy in the short amount of time I have been using it. I really think we all should stop wasting our money on expensive bottled water and do some good for the environment. It has been really easy to stick to that commitment since using the bottle.

I was hoping this would be a great way to have water while traveling fill it up once through airport security and voila, fresh water! But, it leaks way too much to be of any use (I would never put it in my carry on bag with water in it). Even just keeping it on my desk at work isn''t an option because it leaks when you drink out of it. Agree with other reviewers that say it has way too many moving parts.Read Best Reviews of Hydros Filtering Water Bottle Here
I bought this in hopes that it would be an upgrade from my Brita bottle. This bottle actually seems to be a good example of poor design, though, where form was given more attention than function. They''re beautiful to the eye, but they don''t work as well as they should (especially for the price; I bought 2, for about $50). The lid is much too stubborn and complicated (it can be hard to open/close, especially without opening the refill slot at the same time), it leaks like a kid on the pamper whenever it''s not upright, and it''s even a hassle to fill (you have to wait until the water passes through the filter, unless you want to spill water everywhere). It also takes a while for the black carbon dust residue to be cleaned away permanently. The water tastes good, and comes out in a steady stream, but considering all of the negatives and the fact that filter only lasts about a month (if you drink 4 bottles a day), I wouldn''t recommend buying this product. Drinking water shouldn''t be a hassle.Want Hydros Filtering Water Bottle Discount?
People who know me know that I am very particular with my water bottles (I''ve had so many different water bottles that I couldn''t count them all). I have been looking for a bottle with a filter (because I like the idea of removing excess chlorine and such) however I rather dislike sports caps and those water bottles with straws. That''s when I happened across this bottle. The drinking "spout" is sort of like the type you''d have on a travel coffee mug. The drinking spout looks small, however quite a bit of water comes out of it. The side filling spout is great for water fountains as it''s easier to fill the bottle.I am very happy with this bottle. However there are a couple of things to note. For one, at first the bottle started leaking a tad when I would drink. I contacted Hydros support (they were very nice and helped me out) and they told me that you have to tighten the cap pretty tight. Once I did that, then I haven''t experienced anymore leaking (I can turn the bottle fully upside down and shake it and no water comes out).
Also, the system for the various parts of the cap is a bit confusing at first (that''s the reason I knocked a star off the review). Once I looked at the paper with the bottle that explained it, then it made more sense to me (Hydros also has some videos on their website and YouTube showing how to use the bottle). I wish they kept the system simpler, however once you get used to it then you never think about it.
Last thing to note is make sure you soak the filter (as the instructions say to do before using). And don''t worry, the water will turn dark blue/black for that initial soak, but after that it''s fine.
It''s also great that a part of the proceeds go toward their Operation Hydros project to set up clean water systems and infrastructure in underdeveloped countries. So because of that I was able to justify spending a bit more on this water bottle.
Overall I''m very happy with this bottle. Just make sure you close the cap tightly and you''ll be good.
