I bought these as a cheaper alternative to Platypus. I doubt they would hold up quite as long, but they are half the cost or less. So far they have worked quite well though I do not use them with a filter so I can''t comment on that part. I bought both 16 and 32 ounce versions and have also used the latter for a pillow (with and without water in it). So far I have no real complaints. Like all soft-sided water bottles, they don''t fill quickly by just dunking them under the water with the bottom down.
