First off:Item arrived promptly, completely as described. Nothing wrong with it; I rate the seller A+ and would recommend buying from him.
I would not recommend this item because I do not consider it to be well made compared to similar items at similar prices.
The bracket attachment is a cast steel piece, which creates several problems:
It is one size. If you don''t have a bar the correct size, it will not fit.
It is not adjustable for attachment to a horizontal or vertical bar.
Being steel, and with the interior lined with steel teeth, if you attach it to a painted or finished bar it will take off the paint or finish.
This would be avoided if a plastic/rubber strap attachment had been used, allowing you to attach to any size bar without damaging it. It would also be easier to install.
The area that holds the bottle is also steel and not very flexible. You need a bottle that fits is very close to the size of the cage.
That''s about it. If you read the description of the item carefully and ensure that this item is exactly the one you need, and are not worried about scratching paint, then this item is for you. Otherwise, I suggest looking around for other items.
Also, I see this item being geared more toward mountain bikers. It is definitely very sturdy and would stand up to being knocked around without coming off or losing a bottle.
