Not sure if this was a shipping mix up, but the spreader I received was a black coated version. I bought this to use as a bottle hanger for suspending cooking/boiling containers over a fire, but I don''t really like the idea of using this for those purposes.

They work pretty well on mid size to larger catfish to recover a swallowed hook.

Not a bad idea to keep a pair on the boat. I have to admit that I still usually

just cut the line and put on a new hook instead of messing with it though.
