My co-worker was raving about these Stainless Steel water bottles. I have bought several different brands of water bottles and none of them seem to keep my water cold for very long! So I decided to part with around $10 an another water bottle I was sure would just end up laying around unused. Let me tell you what ~ these Green Canteen 25-oz. Steel Water Bottles are great! They claim to keep your beverages hot for up to 12 hours and cold for up to 12 hours. We have put them to the test. How about 24 hours with ice still in the bottle! Yes ~ these water bottles do that! I bought one for cold beverages. Now I am going to buy one for hot beverages and I imagine it will work just as well! I have left my Green Canteen sit in the car in the heat and the water still stays cold. At a great price you can''t go wrong with these water bottles!

The bottle is great, the design is great, it''s easy to carry and use. The plastic used in the straw, however, has a powerful, disgusting flavor/smell that just can''t be removed. I''ve tried everything I could find online as suggestions to remove plastic taste/smell, including soaking it in baking soda and later in vinegar. Nothing gets rid of it.

I did find that removing the straw and drinking by tipping the bottle, but it tended to spill a little. Definitely got rid of the taste/smell, though.

Basically, they''re useless unless you have no sense of taste/smell, in which case I highly recommend them. :-\

The flip straw design is great on one bottle I own of a different company. I just bought a Green Canteen one and it''s HORRIBLE. Liquid doesn''t come out when you try to drink, I''ve taken the straw on and off to ensure a good connection, and still nothing. The only way to use this bottle is to unscrew it and take off the lid.

This bottle looks and performs great! However, after a month of use it still has an unpleasant metallic smell. Tried every trick in the book lemon, laurel leaves, nutmeg the smell''s still there.

I like the 25-oz capacity. The product comes with a long flexible straw, which I thought was great. I''ve had problems with wicking/leaking with the rigid plastic straws. The drinking spout is square and takes some getting used to, but minor adjustment. I''ve only had it for a few weeks, but I love it, and the price was great + free shipping!! I also recommend the SIGG long-handled bottle brush for cleaning. Thanks Amazon!
