The replacement cap itself is fine. Instead, my review concerns the inadequate and confusing product description on this Amazon webpage, and the high price.

From the photo of 5 caps, the description as "packaged", and the high price ($5.95), I thought that I would be getting a set of *5* replacement lids! Instead, I received only one, "packaged" for retail sales in plastic with a labeled hang-top closure. How strange that this Amazon webpage should offer "packaged" vs. "wide" versions (which I now guess are "non-packaged")... does Amazon think that retailers are making purchases on this website for resale in their own stores?

Furthermore, $5.95 for just a single replacement *cap* is an unreasonably high price... an entire Nalgene bottle usually runs for less than $10 in brick-and-mortar stores! Other sellers on Amazon offer single replacement lids for roughly $2, but most have huge shipping charges (between $7 and $10 *per cap*). If you want more than one replacement cap, go somewhere like rei.com: $2 per cap, plus $5.99 shipping anywhere in the U.S. for the *total* purchase.

Alas, I have a feeling that I would have had no problem with any of this (and probably saved money) if only I had gone to a brick-and-mortar store instead....

Everytime I''ve heard that someone''s "broken" a Nalgene bottle, they inevitably stuck it in the dishwasher and the lid dropped down and melted. Well, this will fix this, just remember to take it off before you stick it through the machine, or just hand wash.

Really? $9 for a lid? Go buy an entire bottle... and if you''re replacing a lid to a nostalgic one, buy a new bottle and take the lid off of it, and use the bottle itself as a measuring cup.

I thought I was ordering a single package of "lids". Instead I received ONE lid in ONE package. The price of $6.95 is very high considering I purchased an entire bottle for $9.99. Nice LID, though!
