I was happy with a regular Sigg, so I bought a few of these. They were obviously all from the same, faulty, batch. They all had the inner liner peel away at the top, apparently from the rubbing of the cap. My regular Sigg does not appear to have this problem, but I think it was a manufacturing rather than a design fault.Sigg has ignored my emails. I presume they use an over-aggressive spam filter, rather than sit there deleting them. I do not particularly care what the reason is. I will not buy from them again.
When you think about it, having a plastic inner liner is, in terms of chemical exposure, the same as having a plastic bottle from Nalgene or Camelbak. The only reasons to prefer the Sigg is aesthetics or cap preference.Talk about a great water bottle! First off, it''s big and chunky like Cold War Soviet hardware which makes it very durable so it travels well. It has a wide opening and not some sissy she-man sippy nipple. No Dude, you manually control the velocity of the flow rate by adjusting angler tilt of the bottle. Don''t worry if you don''t get it at first and spill some on yourself, just act you meant to do that and then spit some in the air to show your victory over all things in nature. Sippy nipple "men" will turn away in fear for they know a new testosterone fueled alpha is in the house. Plus, look at that name...yeah..now say it; "Sigg" say it again like you''ve got a pair; SIGG!! Yeah...Alright... kinda sounds like another alpha male from THE Man show of all time; Top Gear''s "The Stig" (not the stupid wanna be US version but the ONLY version; BBC) Rumor has it that Switzerland is releasing a stamp with The Stig drinking from a Sigg shooting a Sig. Wanna be part of that club? Yeah ya do!

This product''s walls should be a bit thicker to ensure minimal dents from dings e.g. it fell from knee height and now sways when sitting.Dropped it from about 4 feet, it broke the threads on one of the lids so it no longer seals. If you go to the website, it says "Now made with fewer threads so only a couple of twists will get you to your beverage quicker." Fewer threads make it cheaper and less robust, I have no idea why anyone would buy a delicate water bottle. I''ll go back to Nalgene, they work for years no matter what you do to them.I bought 2 50oz Sigg bottles in 2007 and I used them 5 days a week for work and I would alternate the 2 bottles. Well one of them lasted about 3 years and the other one is still going strong........at least 6 years. The once I had problems with started to peel and leak, could have been from it being dropped so many times and may have screwed up the bottle. My current bottle has plenty of dents but no problems. Easy to carry with the loop top and seals great, never leaks. I just fill mine from the fridge with filtered water and I don''t even refrigerate......I''m easy. It does dent fairly easy or I would have given it 5 stars but is pretty durable.
