It''s great except you need to tighten the bejesus out of the cap or else it leaks lightly. I''ve had a couple incidents of a wet backpack and front seat of the car. Otherwise, I take this thing everywhere and it''s fine.

I must say this is the best stainless bottle I''ve used. In contrast to the experiences of some of the other reviewers, I''ve used this extensively for hiking and camping as well as EDC and have yet to have it leak. The bottle is well made and very large, substantially larger than your average bottle. This obviously means it won''t fit in a cup holder but c''monthat''s not a reason to ding it! You''ll be grateful for those extra ounces at the end of a long hike when the heat index is 100+.

The flat black paint is also a bonus, as is the rounded corners of the bottle. Just remember, if you''re using it for hiking/camping, if you need to use water sterilizing tablets like Potable Aqua or cholorine dioxide, this bottle is considerably larger than the 1 liter they''re designed for.

EDIT: How do you make a great bottle better? With a flat cap from Klean Kanteen! Just wanted to let you all know that the plastic flat cap fits this bottle perfectly! This makes the bottle nearly an inch shorter allowing it to fit into carriers the standard cap won''t allow. For instance, with the original cap this bottle won''t fit a True North Gear bottle pocket (neither the Double Diamond nor the SERAC SAR) but with the flat cap it just fits, even nested with a GSI bottle cup! Yes, that''s another bonusthe bottle is the exact same diameter as a Nalgene Standard!

It''s a large, stainless steel canteen that is well-made with a sturdy cap. Has held up very nicely with daily use over the last year. Would highly recommend and see no flaws with this. I hand wash it and wouldn''t suggest putting it in the dishwasher.

The cap is made of steel, and so is the canteen. There needs to be a very snug fit for this product to be airtight. Therefore, opening and closing the canteen creates a horribly grating nails-on-chalkboard sound. We use the canteen but subbed out the cap with a rubber-like one we already had (from a more famous anonymous brand of sustainable canteens) so avoid the terrible noise. Thankfully, the other cap worked well.
