Despite the negative review that I read, I bought this bottle for a trip to King''s Peak in the Uinta Mountains in Utah. It was relatively inexpensive and there just aren''t that many options in this category of filters. So I took a chance. I loved it! There was no problem with taste, order, color, etc. There''s nothing like dipping a bottle into a stream, screwing on the lid, and then immediately being able to drink.I also took the MSR MiniWorks EX Microfilter. It worked well but my primary source of water was the Seychelle. The Seychelle doesn''t seem to hold a lot of water due to the large filter but I could squeeze water out of it into my cook pot faster than I could pump water from the MiniWorks.
A friend had a Katadyn filter bottle on the trip. It''s filter seemed to clog by the end of the trip. My Seychelle''s output remained consistent. Great bottle.I personally own and use many of the Seychelle bottles and pitchers. These products consistantly deliver great tasting water at a very low price. I found no other bottles that can match them. I carry these on trips all over the country.

Not the greatest product... took it on my recent trip to Uganda, it did filter the water as promised, but developed a large crack after about a week into the trip.. I left it there for one of the locals. They hopefully can use it a bit longer before it breaks down completely.I took this on a trip to Northern Michigan. My friends use the much costlier Steri-Pen. This allows you to dunk it in the river or creek, screw the cap on and start drinking immediately. While they were waiting on the miracle ultraviolet light sterilizer to work it''s magic, I was busy gulping down water.... Hmmm... which one is better? It''s a no-brainer, go with the Seychelles Advanced, it filters the nasty critters out as well as filtering the sediment. The Steri-Pen filters nothing, it only kills the critters but you end up drinking slime and floaties. One word of warning: Flush this bottle out about three or four times before first use, because the initial carbon taste is awful. Once it''s flushed though, the water tastes great.Want Seychelle 28oz Flip Top Advanced Filter Water Purification / Filtration Bottle Discount?
This is my third Seychelle Flip-Top water-filtration bottle in the past decade or so. I love this product! We live in the mountains and have our own well, so we''re used to truly clean, pure, great-tasting water. With my Seychelle, I can go anywhere, drink any water, and know that what I''m drinking is pure and clean -no germs, chlorination, fluoridation, pesticide, herbicide or medication/drug residues. And the filters last a long time for me, usually over a year.My only complaint would be that, unless I remember to hold the bottle away from me when I fold the straw back down, a little drop of water drips onto my clothes. Wish I knew how to stop that from happening.
And by the way, for those of you who have said that it''s hard to "suck" through the straw: I didn''t know this at first, either, but you''re supposed to squeeze the bottle as you''re drinking. Problem solved!
