I have two of these now because they do what the company claims, fit into car cup holders nicely, and I like this size (which is smaller than what many brands offer).

This thing was exactly what I wanted. My son is lactose intolerant so i wanted to be able to send milk to school with him.

I put the jar part without the lid in the freezer overnight for added cool. The thing is really durable so even though it was more than I really wanted to pay for a thermos, It will most likely make it as long as we need it, 5? or more years. When my other kids are older I will probably purchase more of these for there lunch boxes.

I wanted a reusable drink container for my lunch because I was trying to eliminate soda from my diet. My lunch bag is small (for practical reasons), and soda cans are really the only drink item that fit well enough. I originally planned on just buying a cheap water bottle. However, in the past these were usually too big and unwieldy, or the lid didn''t seal, or were shaped strangely so they were difficult to clean. Most of these I threw away because of mold issues or they became too flimsy after repeated washings. I decided to look for something that didn''t have these drawbacks. I purchased this item with the requirements of: a reusable drink container that isn''t much bigger than a soda can; isn''t a weird shape; has a wide brim; and a cap with an air-tight, reliable seal. This item delivers on all of these requirements perfectly.

The expense is certainly worth it. This item is very well made and extremely sturdy. It keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold, and its small enough to fit in my lunch bag. The wide brim makes it easy to clean and drink from (be careful not to spill though!).

My only complaint with this item is with the lid. It takes a little more effort than usual to line up the threads, and often times it becomes misaligned and won''t screw on tightly. Of course, this is a minor issue; when the lid is screwed on properly, it is very secure with a strong seal. Another small item is I don''t like the ring at the top of the lid, though I understand its utility so I don''t consider that a complaint. There is a flat-topped "coffee lid" that can be purchased separately (unless you bought the bundled version), but it is not an air-tight seal (which is more important to me) so I''m happy with the standard.

All in all, a terrific purchase. If I am in the need of larger drink containers in the future, I will certainly buy from Klean Kanteen.

I''ve been using these for a few years now. I started with a 20 oz insulated version from a company that no longer sells them so I looked up Klean Kanteen directly to get more. The loop cap does not leak if put on the bottle correctly. The gasket on the inside of the lid can occasionally come loose. If this happens the bottle can leak however a simple rinse of the gasket and the inside of the cap to get the gasket to stay in place fixes this problem. Also if you eat soup in it be sure the rim of the Kanteen is wiped clean before placing the cap back on. I have never had any problems with leakage when I ensure the rim is free of any residue. I worked out doors last winter in a small barely heated shack where I had to open the window repeatedly to do my job. I placed boiling hot tea or soup on this 12oz Kanteen and the tea stayed hot well past lunch (6 hours). The soup had be blown on to cool it down enough to eat it. I will be buying more of this product and it''s larger versions as well. I love that the loop cap will fit all 3 sizes of their insulated bottles. The cafe lid does leak if you tip it over sideways but it is more of a travel cup lid than a tight sealing lid. I use both. The only con to this product (it''s a tiny one) is that it may not fit in the cup holders in your car very well. In my car it fits in the cup holders but bumps up against the front of the radio. I consider this to be a drawback more of my car than my Klean Kanteen!

Kleen Kanteen makes solid products and this is no exception. I was tired of buying travel mugs that leak or fall apart, and wanted something that would slip into my backpack for long day hikes. This product fits the bill, is small enough for day packs, and keeps hot or cold beverages insulated for a few hours, better than a typical travel mug but not as good as the best thermos bottles I''ve used. The screw-on top is leak-proof as long as you take care to twist it on solidly to compress the O-ring. The sippy top option, however, WILL leak if knocked over which makes it unusable for me. Perhaps this is the problem that the other reviewer had with their leak.
