Nathan Stainless Steel 700ml Silicone Sleeve Flip Straw Bottle

I own five Nathan branded stainless steel water bottles and this is my favorite style. My Nathan water bottles were purchased for use in my home and office as a replacement for plastic bottles. I fill them with water only so I do not have experience on how they fare with other liquids. I highly recommend this water bottle and have purchased a number of these for friends/family.

I understand some of the frustrations other reviewers mentioned so I have some comments/tips.

-The pressure changes inside the water bottle as the temperature changes and will cause the leakage mentioned reviewers. When you take the water bottle out of the fridge or fill it up and drop the ice in, pop the straw and take a nice big swig to reduce the pressure. I only have leakage when I forget to do this.

-This bottle will keep water cool for a few hours in a room temperature environment. These are not dual wall insulated bottles so you should not expect ice to stay frozen for 4+ hours.

-Some of the Nathan water bottles shipped from Amazon were defective. If you find the straw is passing through an inordinate amount of air with each gulp, your water bottle is likely defective and Amazon will replace it free of charge.

I bought this water bottle hoping it would be fully insulated but it is not. There is moisture that accumulates on the metal portion of the bottle.

The bottle comes with three straws so you can replace one when it gets damaged or icky. I like the clip on the top. I use it for my keys when I go to the gym. If you prefer a bottle without sucking the straw you can remove the straw and just lift the bottle up.

I purchased two of these water bottles about a year ago. I found when sucking on them, they often deliver as much air as water, even when full. I suspect the seal on the swivel top is not working well. The bottles have occasionally bubbled out around their top while sitting in our auto drink holders because of pressure buildup. I don''t recommend them for these reasons.

I love this thing. Much more convenient than a standard water bottle!

It does sweat a lot if you put ice in it, that''s the only drawback. Otherwise, I love it.

To all the naysayers about how it squirts or leaks water: I think I figured out what you''re talking about. There are two scenarios that would cause these to happen, and a brief overview of physics explains it all.

1. Water will leak from the top if you close it too quickly immediately after drinking from it. The water left in the top part of the straw does not go back down immediately (just like in a normal straw). If you close the sipper too fast, the remaining water will leak all over you. Drink... pause for a second... close. Easy.

2. Water will come shooting out of the top once you open it if you put in cold water, close the lid, and let it sit for a while. This is because the water and air inside the bottle will expand as it gets hotter, creating more pressure. If you open it quickly after doing this, you''ll get some water and/or air shot at you. If it''s been sitting for a long while, open slowly so the breather hole can regulate the pressure.
