Zefal Echo Bottle Cage

This cage is part plastic and part metal. Because of that, it flexes and moves around quite a bit. It holds your water bottle OK, but I really don''t think it is going to hold up very well. Considering that you can get an all-metal cage for the same price, such as Pyramid Alloy Bicycle Water Bottle Cage, Bulk, I see no reason at all to get this Zefal.

This cage is lightweight, inexpensive, and stylish. All above because the plastic was used in the right place. For its weight, it is not flimsy at all, same as other 5mm tubing alloy cages. It may not be suitable for heavy off-road use but will do just fine in city, road, and trail.

I have the blue, red, and black Zefal water cages. I like these because the plastic part is the part that connects to the frame, whic helps against paint chipping. The all-metal ones will eventually chip the paint. I''ve had mine for 2-years plus and haven''t experienced any problems. Yes, they don''t come with screws; that''s how they keep the price down. The bolts are 5mm. I bought some stainless steel ones from my local hardware store.

This bottle cage is OK-it seems a little flimsy, but would probably do the job... I can''t say for sure because the screws were not included, so I can''t actually use it yet. Over the years I''ve bought lots of bike accessories-headlight, taillight, rack, mirror, etc, and I''ve never had this problem before. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM unless you want to spend your Saturday wandering around Home Depot trying to eyeball the size screw you need.
