I thought this would be a great investment since I drink so much tap water at work. Within one month of use, the filter inside broke and I had a mouth full of carbon pieces.

I tried it again, thinking it could have been user error, but again within a months time, the filter broke and I again had another mouth full of carbon pieces.

I think it said it was good for something like 300 bottles of water. I probably had 30 tops.

I tried writing to the company, but never heard back.

This served its purpose for exactly what I needed it to. I have only used one of the filter bags, so I don''t know if the other one is busted or anything (it''s still sealed in the foil), but the first one was fine and has done a good job removing faint bad tastes from water.

I had the same issue that Steven Thompson mentioned. Neither one of the TapGuards I purchased for the two Nalgene bottles I had fit. After posting on Guyot''s Facebook they responded and wanted me to call them long distance so they could instruct me on how to insert these things "properly". They were to small to fit so no amount of instruction would have worked. I purchased two of the Rubbermaid 20-Ounce Filtration Personal Bottle, Black /Rubbermaid 20-Ounce Filtration Personal Bottle -Blue bottles and couldn''t be happier. They may not hold as much but as least we know they don''t leak and the filtration actually works. The Brita ones leak really bad and plenty of people say so in the reviews.

Maybe I''m not smart enough to use this. Water came out of the filter... If you held it just right and had some luck. Water leaked through the sides. Even when it did go straight from filter to my mouth, the water tasted exactly the same. Waste of my money.

Let me start by saying I wouldn''t use them in the backcountry or for purification purposes. However, for daily use to remove the metallic tasting gunk in the water at my work, it''s perfect! The water that I once wouldn''t touch, I can now drink and it tastes just as good as bottled water.

Easy to use, just pop it in your camelbak or Nalgene bottle and you''re good to go! I don''t drink water without it!
