Pretty simple.. it keeps liquids hot. I got the similar 1913 Water Bottle a few months ago and I''ve really liked it. I wanted a new insulated bottle for coffee, so Stanley was the first place I looked.

The only con would be that I don''t really intend to use the cap as a cup, so I would prefer a cap with a handle more like the water bottle, but that''s fairly trivial.

I bought this as a gift for my husband, who really likes to avoid products made in China. He has another Stanley insulated bottle made in USA, so I assumed this one was too. (Amazon doesn''t state where it is made.) Turns out this one is made in China.

Since it''s so hard to find thermos'' made anywhere else, he decided to keep it. I put his morning coffee in here and he drinks it throughout the morning and it stays nice and hot.

Still wish Stanley hadn''t moved production to China.

This bottle gets the job done. When full it will stay hot overnight, but doesn''t seem to retain heat as long when half full. Heat gradually escapes where the seam between the inner and outer vessels meet. This is probably the case with any all-metal vacuum bottle as the metal acts as a heat sink. Keeping the outer lid on will help, especially in colder environments.

That said, it is very tough and functional. The finger loop is strong and perfect for hanging the bottle onto a bag with a carabiner. The cap seals very tightly. An unpublished feature is that liquid can be poured out without fully opening the cap. This pour-through feature is great, and helps to keep steam and heat from escaping when your ready for that next cup of java.
