Its a really nice canteen, holds alot of water, sturdy, overall really good, my only complaint is that its hellish to clean, but then again, it holds alot of water, so what can you expect?Read Best Reviews of Military Army Steel Water Camping ARCTIC Canteen Bottle Here
This canteen is very well designed. The welding points are solid, the silicone and cap seal perfect every time I have used it. I have not had any metal taste since I started using it and hopefully never will. The lanyard they supplied is decent but I replaced the rings with better rings and para cord. My one complaint is that I do not believe this canteen is made of steel. A rare earth magnet would not "grab" on to the canteen. Now the canteen works perfect but the description does say steel. Is there another way to check if it is steel other than using magnets?Well whether or not it is made of steel, the canteen works very well and I would recommend it for your BOB or for backpacking.
UPDATE: Traded this out for a Stanley Stainless Steel Utility Bottle that holds the same volume. Stands up on it''s own. Easy to clean with foliage or bottle brush. You can boil water easily with it on a wood stove or directly on a fire (with cap off of course). Liked the canteen but isn''t what I was looking for.

I LOVE ITWished it would of included the cover. But for the price, its still worth it. Cover was too expensive I thought. Solid steel canteen. Great for boiling water. Just be sure to take out the rubber insert before boiling. Heavy though for backpacking. Good for emergency use.
