Nalgene Kids OTF Smash Bottle (Gray/Red)

This is the second one of these bottles I''ve bought (the first was from Target, and I liked it enough to get a second one here on Amazon). This one has a brick-red lid and a smoke-colored bottle with the truck picture.

Pros:

--BPA-free

--leak-proof when you have it latched properly

--a metal clip thing that makes sure the spout doesn''t pop open in transit

--kid-friendly (my 6-year-old can work the latch and the pop-open drinking lid)

--durable--it can be dropped and doesn''t break

--a wide mouth for putting in ice and for washing

--dishwasher top-rack safe (I''ve been washing my other one, a blue one, for the last three months in the dishwasher, top rack, with no noticeable change in color, texture of lid''s seal, or function)

--fits in standard cupholders

Con:

It comes with a large BPA-Free sticker plastered on one side with the Glue from Hell. I pulled off the sticker and then tried Fantastik, vinegar, toothpaste, and a Scotch-brite scrub sponge, and none of it would get the gummy residue off. Finally I tried Mrs. Meyer''s Clean Day Liquid Hand Soap, Lavender scent, and that got it off with scrubbing with the rough side of the Scotch-brite sponge.

I''m pleased with the product and quality and would buy one again (and have).

I have been searching for a good water bottle for my school age kids for a long time. Most of the bottles (including the stainless steel one) are difficult to clean or has a small hole to drink from. This is a perfect one. Doesn''t leak at all. Big hole to drink from and very easy to clean. My 5-year-old and 7-year-old love it.

What a perfect big boy bottle! My 4 year old can open the latch and close it but my 2 1/2 year old cannot. The lid opens to reveal a open hole. So nothing to suck on, bite or otherwise. Just like drinking out of a bottle of aquafina.

the rubber seal in the lid that presses down on the spout to seal it when closed came out. My son tried putting it back and it wouldn''t stay. Seams like not only a choking hazard but a poor design.
