When I opened the filter I noticed that the straw wasn''t expandable like it is suppose to be. This might make it harder to drink. The filter itself seems like it would work. I have used it once with already purified water and you have to suck pretty hard to get the water to come through the straw.

I have yet to use this as it''s in my bug out bag. I have used similar products in the past. I would not even review except I wanted to mention that the straw is very stiff and straight. Frankly, I think this is a good thing but the picture shows the straw as curved. The straw and filter are very sturdy and rugged which isn''t obvious from the picture.

I have yet to use this product, and I hope the world never comes to the point where I do, but after reading in Popular Science that this product technology is #1 for this year, I knew that it was legit. I would couple this with some iodine or chloride tablets, but this could be a life saver if you are in dire straits and need clean water. Great price for the product. At any sports store, I''m sure you would pay 3x the price.
