Brita Hard Sided Water Bottle Filter

I was recently in the hospital on an extended stay for pregnancy. I had to drink lots of water and initially used the water bottle they provided. Then this bottle arrived and I was able to use it. The taste of the water was so much better out of this bottle. The other water tasted plastic-y and a little chemically. The water from this bottle did not--it has a nice clean taste to it.

It can be a little difficult to get through the straw since it needs to go through the filter, but it isn''t too bad. My 19-month-old loves drinking from mommy''s water, so he always goes for my water bottle and he has no problem sucking through the straw to get water.

I am mostly pleased with this water bottle. The taste is fine no plasticky or weird aftertaste. It''s a perfect water bottle to take when I go hiking or walking as the top has a loop to hang on to. I like that the side is marked with different levels: 8 oz, 16 oz, & 22 oz; 200 ml, 40 ml, 600 ml. What I don''t like is that the sip-straw part , which folds down flush with the top, is hard to access and sip from. There is a little protrusion for my thumb to grip, which at first didn''t work too well . I ended up having to touch the tip where I put my mouth to help pry it open not very hygienic. After opening it multiple times very forcefully, I guess the straw part loosened up enough so the protrusion worked the way it was supposed to. I hope it doesn''t snap off.

I have been through most of filtered water bottles including the Bobble and Brita Sports bottle. The hare sided water bottle blows them both our of the water. The biggest problem I had with the squeeze bottles is that they would leak when ever trying to take a drink from them. Seems like a minor thing but it is very annoying to walk around with water all over your clothes in public. This water bottle does not leak at all even when I hold it upside down to dispense the ice through out the bottle. Did I mention that the lid is large enough for ice cubes? That was a huge down side to the bobble bottle that I had. Others have complained about needing to "suck" hard to get water out but I find it no more difficult that using a straw. Brita even includes a soft clear rubber piece around the straw so that you don''t smash your teeth on it if working out or not paying attention. And as expected the water taste great clean with no funky mineral taste... And I am very picky about my water. This is a must have for people that drink a lot of water or want to do so. I find it much more convenient than bottles and I feel better about helping with the environment.So just to recap...

Let me start by saying, I have good ole fashion well water, so the water tastes great to start with. Some how with this product though, I seem to like the taste even better! Never thought that would be possible. One true test was the water at my work place is less then to be desired. With the britta filtered bottle, the water is so much better, i couldn''t believe it.

One other thing I found that worked for me was be the britta bottle, I drank a lot of water, but always mixed some thing with it, usually with less sugar as possible, but to make the water more desirable to drink. With the Britta bottle I only drink water, I am not sure, but thought that you wouldn''t want to mix anything in the water because it would have to go through the filter as well & may plug the filter eventually. So it has kind of broke my habit of having to mask the taste of just straight water. I have also found that I tend to drink even more water then I did before.

I would recommend this product to anyone. If you are trying to lose a little weight or just trying to be healthy, this product will help!
