Condor Molle Modular Hydration Pack

Condor Molle Modular Hydration Pack*** Background ***

I own a "Rack/Rig" MOLLE vest made by "Full Clip USA" which has an open back. It has better ventilation than a full back vest but it lacks a built in hydration carrier as a result.

The Condor MOLLE hydration pack is ideal for adding hydration to such an open vest.

The Condor pack seems very well made with the MOLLE ladder being constructed of actual Cordura fabric doubled over onto itself.

Stitching is excellent on the Condor pack; I don''t have any concern it will deconstruct itself in use.

This pack comes with a set of basic shoulder straps which loop through the buttoned MOLLE attachment straps. They can be unclipped if not needed, such as when the pack is attached to a MOLLE vest.

*** Water Capacity ***

While some literature suggests this pack will only hold a 2-litre bladder, I''ve been able to load a full "Source" WXP 3-litre bladder without problems. That particular bladder measures 22 x 43cm and seems to be a better bladder than Condor''s offerings.

*** Vest Real-Estate***

The MOLLE straps on the back of the pack an upper and lower pair have a gap of one column between them. As such, this pack can be installed on a vest or other MOLLE system with an area three columns wide.

Mine is attached using the upper clips for primary support and the lowers only to stabilize the bottom. You could just as easily affix using only the top if you didn''t mind some sway.

*** Downsides ***

The MOLLE attachment straps use buttons as closures but, unfortunately, these tend to come unclipped with little effort.

Much of my other MOLLE gear uses MALICE clips instead of button attachment straps. I find those much more secure. It''s my intent to cut off the button straps and replace them with MALICE clips.

*** Conclusion ***

Small issue aside, this hydration carrier is excellent.

The use of genuine MultiCam cordura to build the MOLLE/PALS ladder means the entire back is fully camouflaged instead of broken up with monotone webbing.

The capacity is higher than rated, perhaps because this isn''t just a flat carrier but is actually an inch or two thick.

Highly recommended due to quality, functionality, general availability (everyone sells Condor gear) and availability in multiple camouflage pattern.

A very good product, as with most Multicam items it is a little more on the spendy side. When I ordered the pack I didn''t know it would come with shoulder straps so that you could wear it alone rather than having to attach it to a vest or another pack, so that was a plus. That being said, I ordered it for my plate carrier, and I just stow the backpack straps in with a 3 liter Camelbak bladder that fits very well. This pack competes well with the Camelbak multicam pack I''ve seen, but allows you to attach more if needed, so I give this one a slight edge.
