This can is made of the same plastic Nalgene bottles are made from. It is thick plastic that could be dropped on gravel without being punctured. The air vent on the back is screw on and goes on tight and the reversible nozzle is flexible. There is also a rubber grommet in the lid that prevents leakage and the main lid has a gear like grip so it can be wrenched on/off if necessary. The whole bottle is a very light blue so it reflects most of the sunlight keeping your drinking water cool. When you look at the whole package you can tell this is a very well designed water bottle. It feels and looks expensive but it''s about the same price as all the other crappy ones available. Very high quality strong plastic water containers. Way better then those ones you buy at most stores that are just cheapie junk . These Spector brand seal up tight & dont spill all over the scene like the others. Only thing is they dont fit in standard jerry can holders. Made in Canada (which means good quality)

Received mine as an Christmas present for off roading. This can matches my Scepter gas can. I saw a couple of reviews that say it won''t fit a "standard" gerry can mount. As long as the mount meets mil-spec, it should fit just fine (mine does). These cans are the current US military issue cans for fuel, water, etc. for their reliability and toughness. The water can is UN blue, has a rubber seal on the spout (which keeps it from leaking and keeps contaminates out). Worth the price (at ~$17, it can''t be beat...especially for 5GAL of water). Comes with the spout, that is flexible, and stores in itself. Nicely written across the can is "Potable Water". With the writing and color, its easy not to get confused on which you use for gas and which you use for water. Simple stuff to keep up with, but accidents do happen when people aren''t paying attention.
Would recommend to any off roader / utv camper.

I bought three of these (I do want more) for long-term water storage and the occasional camping trip. So far, I have no complaints. Compared to my prior method reusing juice and soda bottles this makes for a more convenient storage package (perhaps not so much daily use as these are about 40 pounds when full of water). They either stay on my garage floor or in the back of my vehicle. I do not use a rack (as cool as they look, they detract from the classic lines of my Saturn VUE), so cannot speak in that regard.
An excellent product for my needs.
Cheers!Just like the good old days. It makes a great fuel can because it''s got a vent and it pours without any CARB drama.
