So quick review. I have used this water bottle everyday for the last year. I have taken it on backpacking trips, camping trips, regular days in my car and at my desk. EarthLust Stainless Steel Water Bottle (1 Liter)
The bottle is mega-cool, which is why I bought it instead of just a plain stainless steel bottle. However, the paint peels off no matter how you wash it. The other poor review for this bottle said that the paint was flaking off from dishwashing it, which is no shock because it SAYS not to put it in the dishwasher in the instructions. I have only washed mine according to the instructions and the paint is coming off as well. I also bought the bird one and the same thing is occurring. Moral: If people are going to sell something with something cool painted on it, they should make sure the paint stays on. And they can because, just to let you know, the "Earthlust" logo which is also painted on is NOT coming off at all. Shows where their priorities are. I am tempted to scratch that part off so I won''t be advertising for a crappy product. To be fair. It "works" functionally just fine. But very disappointed with the graphic coming off.

After searching the internet thoroughly, I decided to give the GoFit weight vest a try. I''m sure if you spent over a $100 on a weight vest, which many of them cost, you could find something that would be just a little better, and I mean just a little. This vest is comfortable, fits well and is adjustable for size, is weighted nicely and gives the back in particular a good workout just wearing it. There''s been research on weighted vests and osteoporosis. One source indicated that just wearing a 10 lb. weight vest an hour a day will prevent osteoporosis from progressing. That was important to me. I''m very glad I didn''t buy the hype and purchase a more expensive one.
Most recommendations for first time weight vest runners is to start with about 2.5% above your weight for the vest. Clearly, this recommendation is to fend off litigous people who don''t understand the increased difficulty when running with a weight vest and then have a problem and blame the manufacturer. I weigh about 150 lbs., and it is perfect for me.
I started with several easy five to six milers. During the run, I immediately noticed the effects after starting one route for my run which starts with a large incline. I would not recommend that. Rather, warm up slightly longer to get both your breathing and body used to the weight. Also, PLEASE be careful as the inevitable problems outdoor runners experience, i.e., rocks, curbs, or uneven sidewalks can be much more dangereous. Your achilles/ankle area will be very sensitive and any trip or loss of balance could be dangereous. Of course, I ran at a slower pace than I usually do, but overall found the normal run to be perfect with the weight vest. I stretched and did Yoga afterwards and I would certainly recommend you stretch afterwards, too. The next day, I did feel sore, but in a good, "long run of the week" way. I did not experience any pain. After several "normal" runs with the vest, I embarked on my twice weekly hill training session. It was AWESOME. Climbing the long hill that I normally do repeats on was intense. Going down the same hill was challenging as well. PLEASE be careful when going down a hill with the vest; you''ll definitely notice a big difference on the impact on your body.
Going down hills is where I experienced my only complaint about the vest: for those who are thin, it is a little loose in the rib cage area. It doesn''t bounce around on the waist at all where the straps are. It just could use an additional strap in the rib cage area. Women may notice this even more.
Overall, I absolutely love this vest. It doesn''t require you to add the weights and is easy to wear. Also, the price is fantastic.
Finally, PLEASE be careful and be fit before you start running with this vest. KNOW YOUR LIMITS, please. Beginning by walking would probably be wise.
It will be a great addition to your training sessions.

If you are looking for a less expensive, functional weighted walking vest, this one will do. As with most "one size fits all" items, it doesn''t really. On me, a 5''1" woman, the top part of it is too large. At first it felt like it was slipping off my shoulder, but I got used to it. The velcro waist straps aren''t actually at my waist more like over my belly. The vest has 22 interior pockets for the 22 weight sacks 11 on the front and 11 on the back. The pockets are made of that stretchy, rubbery material that is often used for canned drink insulation sleeves. Each pocket has a slit that runs crosswise in the middle of the pocket. That is how the weight pouches can be removed. If you did that a lot, I would think eventually that slit would rip, because you have to stretch it quite a bit to get the weight pouches in and out. Each weight pouch contains what is described as metal shot. It looks like dirty sand. The sandy stuff is first sealed into black plastic. Then that was sewn into a synthetic fabric pouch. The sewing on the fabric pouches was very sloppy. I decided to remove the fabric it just seemed to make it more difficult to get the weight sacks in and out of the vest pockets. A few of the plastic pouches weren''t completely sealed, allowing the sandy material to leak out. This was easily remedied with some duct tape. I only wear my vest at home, indoors, on my treadmill and elliptical, so the look of it wasn''t a big deal. As I believe someone else mentioned, it looks something like a bullet-proof vest. I think I would feel silly wearing mine outdoors, especially since it is rather ill-fitting. I''m 5''4" and I walk 6 days a week between 1-2 hrs each trip and find this vest pretty comfortable to wear. Because the weight is evenly distributed it doesn''t feel like I''m walking around with an additional 10-lb''s (that''s nice!). The vest has padded extra wide shoulder straps, but I don''t use them much:) After sinching the waste I find I''m so short in the torso that the vest actually rests on my hips and lifts the vest off of my shoulders. This is ok by me since I don''t like weight pulling on my shoulders anyway. The dual stomach Velcro waste tabs are nice for making a snug fit, but I have a smaller chest and find it has a tendency to gap and look/feel bulky up top. I wish it had a second set of straps for the chest area. The placement of the weights is nice too (front and back only-none on the sides). I really only have one major complaint...I wish it had an easier way to pull the weights out (little sand bags). This vest has very small slits and it''s a pain to remove all the bags when I want to wash the thing. I think a single Velcro flap covering the tops of each row for quick removal would be a huge time saver. All-in-all a good product and I''m glad I bought it.

This mug won''t spill when traveling! It is a single serve thermos. Screw on the lid and go! Note that you can not drink through the lid, it needs to be taken off. With the lid off, the lip of the mug is okay for drinking, but could be thicker to have a more rounded lip for better drinking. Works great for throwing in the backpack and drinking at your desk at work or with a picnic lunch.
The other review mentioned that it was too small. I don''t find it to be too small. I use it with my Nespresso machine and I make two lungos and add a good amount of milk and it fits just fine. I haven''t measured it, but my guess is that it holds 12-16 oz.
I considered buying the Contigo Autoseal, but so many of the reviewers talked about how their coffee started to taste bad because the lid would get gunk in it. Yuck. One reviewer even talked you through rinsing it out at work, taking it home where you use your special brushes to clean it properly. I knew this wasn''t for me as I''m one to forget (not want) to spend a ton of time cleaning anything.

I was looking for a bag to haul my MacBook Pro 13" and work papers to and from my work. I wanted something compact, light, and comfortable and in a fairly conservative color. The small Timbuk2 Classic fit the bill. I really like this bag, although there are a few additional features I wish it had. I tried out this bag as well as the Timbuk2 D-lux, Timbuk2 Commuter, and Patagonia Half Mass in a local store before deciding on the small Timbuk2 classic.
===========PROS===========
1. Design. Simple bag. Weather proof lining. Organization pockets on inside for your iPod, phone, keys, pens, etc. Has a quick release extension to ease getting it on, but I don''t find that I every need to use it with the small bag. adding it
2. Size. The small Timbuk2 is the perfect width for a MacBook Pro 13" and 8.5x11 inch papers without a lot of extra room on the sides for things to jostle around or get lost in the bottom. There isn''t much extra room after putting in a laptop and few textbooks, but I found that the weight of the full small bag is about as much as I would want to carry in a messenger bag that puts most of the weight on one shoulder. The medium sized bag seemed to be a big step up in size and was too bulky for me. For days when I need more room, like for workout clothes, I just bring a second bag rather than carry around extra room with me every day. (If you have large bulky, but relatively light, items to carry around then you may want the medium or large bag.)
3. Neapolitan Pocket. So handy to have a pocket you can access without opening the bag. Enough said.
4. Divider. A pleasant surprise here. I was disappointed that the divider was not suitable for my laptop (see below) and had considered cutting the darn thing out of the bag. However, now I find myself using it all the time! It is a great for storing papers/reports so they are both protected and easily accessible. Sit down on the subway...pull out a report. Super!
5. The Shoulder Strap. The strap sewn in along both sides of the bag and is not removable. Having the sturdy wide strap sewn gives the bag a lot of stability. Bags with straps that clip on, swivel and pivot at the point of attachment. This bag doesn''t wobble like that.
===========CONS===========
1. Velcro. The Timbuk2 bag has both clips and velcro for securing the flap. I hate the velcro. It is unnecessary because it already has clips, but worse it is noisy. I am reluctant to open the bag during a meeting because of the loud rIIIIpping sound it will create. There is no discrete way to open this bag. (Note: The velcro closure could be negated covering it with a velcro hook strip which I will do at some point.)
2. No grab strap. Other than the shoulder strap, there is no handle on the bag. I often find myself grabbing for a handle on the top of the bag which doesn''t exist. You can get a grab handle if you build a custom Timbuk2 bag on their website, but you pay twice as much for the bag.
3. No laptop sleeve. Although the bag has a built-in divider which fits the MacBook Pro perfectly, only the inside side is padded (see my video). There is no padding on the outside or bottom of the divider. This means that if you set down your bag hard on the floor, you run the risk of damaging your laptop. I just use my existing neoprene sleeve with my laptop. It is too bulky to fit into the divider, but is quite secure in the main compartment of the bag. (Note: the D-Lux version does have a padded laptop sleeve. See my discussion on other bags below for why it didn''t work for me)
===========Other bags I considered===========
Timbuk2 D-Lux: It has a padded laptop sleeve (although I wasn''t impressed by the padding at the bottom of the sleeve), but it doesn''t come in black which was a deal breaker for me. I also didn''t like the modular organization system which attaches via velcro to the inside of the bag; the pockets weren''t as securely attached to the bag which makes getting things in and out of the pockets more difficult.
Patagonia: What I really liked about this bag was that the padded laptop sleeve does not touch the bottom of the bag, the sleeve was a bit bulky and was oddly attached to the inside of the bag. Also the construction of the bag didn''t feel as solid.
Timbuk2 Commuter: A bigger bag than the small Timbuk2 Classic, but with more functionality. It has a cool laptop case that flips out to be TSA compliant (i.e. you don''t have to take the laptop out of the bag). It also has a grab handle (yeah!) and no velcro on the flap. It was 2nd on my list, but in the end I decided it was bigger than necessary for my daily commute. The laptop case is made to fit a 15" laptop although it my 13" didn''t move around too much. I didn''t like the detachable shoulder strap with swivel straps as much; I prefer the sewn in shoulder strap of the Timbuk2 Classic. However, this would be a great bag for airline travel as if gives a little more room than the Timbuk2 Classic and the TSA compliant laptop compartment. I may end up buying this as a second bag for traveling.
With that said, I do think it''s a slightly confusing bag! So many pockets and compartments, I may have to make some labels to attached to each so I remember where I put things! Also, I would like an outer pocket for a water bottle of some sort. But, since my bottle doesn''t leak, I can put it inside.
I am actually happy it does not come with a laptop compartment. The Timbuk2 Freestyle netbook bag could not even fit my netbook (which is slightly larger, at 11.6 inches) because of its precisely-measured compartment. This bag in a size Small does the trick and fits it perfectly, even with a sleeve I previously purchased on it.
As some reviewers have noted, there is no grab strap. However, just shorted the strap so it lays flat against the top of the bag, tuck the extra strap material into the bag, and there''s your shorter "grab" strap, should you need it.

This is my second Timbuk2 bag. I got the XS size first to just use it like a purse. I commute by bike to work about one day a week and the XS bag just wasn''t big enough for a change of clothes and my lunch, etc. I debated getting a Large one but am so glad I went with Medium. It''s huge! I''m only 5''1" so it looks a little ridiculous on me but I can ride my bike fine with it full of stuff. I think I will also use it as my luggage for trips occasionally. I got it in Silver/Lime-Aide/Lime-Aide color which is great for visibility on my bike (I don''t trust the drivers in NM too much so I try to be as visible as possible). Timbuk2 bags are certainly expensive but worth it I think. They are quality bags and will last forever. I just wanted to mention about the particular size of the bag I bought (small) since it was the hardest part for me when I was buying..To begin with, I already have a huge messenger bag from another SF based company. And I still like the bag very much, yet it''s a little uncomfortable at times, or looks silly when I have a notebook and a pen in a bag that can handle at least two 12 packs. Here''s list of things I carry usually: textbook(s), notepads, bunch of pens, a mini stapler, an eyedrop, a 10" netbook or a 13" mbp, and a fleece jacket. (plus couple more small stuff). Well they all fit perfectly without trying and my back really appreciates the load and the way it sits securely on my back. If I don''t put in my jacket, then I can stuff in a lot more; I just choose not to. You can also strap your jacket using the secure straps. I usually commute by bike or skateboard, and the bag always sits tight on my back. VERY comfortable if you know how to wear it properly. There''s also a loop on the bottom front of the bag where I put a blinker on for night riding..

I just wanted to let you know that small can be adequate enough for daily use, and feels a lot better than having a loaded big thing on the back. Always loved Nalgene but when I found out that Nalgene tests on animals, I looked for an alternative. This is it! One liter size, does not leak, transparent to see liquid, nice frosted blue color which I find preferable to drink water out of, includes a removable sipper/ flow controller-it sits inside the mouth opening and covers most of it, but not all of it (like a disposable coffee cup lid). This prevents spilling the drink all over yourself which I think is easy to do with a wide-mouth cup. I actually like this better than Nalgene now for the frosted blue finish, the curved design, and the mouth opening, and knowing that I''m not supporting a company that tests on animals.

Fluids taste better from this container. I used to use plastic bottles for my drinks on the go, I never realized that there was a difference that they were adding to the taste until I bought this bottle. I noticed the difference right away. I also like the hole that you drink from, it is just the right size. Air can get in as you drink so there are no funny noises from it. Also, the top unscrews to yield a bigger hole for filling, adding ice and ease of cleaning. I like that there are no screw threads on the inside, it is smooth and does not create a place to trap stains.Drinks keep their temperature very well.
The only draw back is the plastic silver ring that is attached to the rope with the clip. I am not sure of it''s function, maybe just for looks, but it seems like cheap plastic. Other than that, I love the high quality design and functionality.

Really, once you eliminate leaks (which Camelbak did) there''s not much you can do to improve it, except maybe make it bigger. 20 oz goes fast for someone like me. I drink a lot of water.
The Big Chill got me excited because I was able to now hold quite a bit more water: 25 oz instead of 20! Doesn''t sound like much, but with two of these on the bike, you have a lot more water to sip.
Main complaint with the Big Chill is that it''s a little too hard to squeeze. Either they made it out of thicker plastic or they changed the grip design, I don''t know. I feel like to get the same amount of water compared to a smaller Podium Chill I have to squeeze quite a bit harder. Just doesn''t feel as good as the smaller Chills. No big deal, I have strong-ish hands, but someone with small hands will likely have a bit of a problem with it.
These bottles are easily marred by painted bottle cages. I suggest using composite or plastic cages with these to avoid leaving paint abrasion marks, which happened on mine.
I actually damaged my lid by scraping it on a wall, causing it to crack and leak water. Camelbak generously provided a new lid free of charge, without any fuss. Awesome.
Also, these bottles do take up a bit more real estate in the bike frame triangle. If you ride a size small or extra small frame you may not be able to fit this bottle into your cages, or it will be difficult to maneuver them out of the cages. Larger frames have no problem, obviously.
This bottle is a great bottle for cyclists, and people in general. I recommend it to every one of my friends. I just wish it came in a Podium Ice version, which would provide more insulation
What this new valve means in practical terms is, no more "two handed operation" to open or close the top; no more pulling the top open with your teeth as you pedal along & then slapping it against your side to close it. This new bottle from Camelbak is soooo much better than an Insulated Polar Water Bottle.
Yes, it will tightly seal all the way with a twist of the top. But for normal conditions, just keep it open. Cool water will NOT come out until you gently sqeeze on it. And that''s another thing the Polar Bottle will not do. With the Polar Bottle, you''ll need more than a "gentle squeeze".

The Camelbak Podium Big Chill 25 oz. water bottle is a very nice addition to my road bike. It''s too tall for my Specialized Mountain Bike but fits well under my Giant''s Defy-2 cross member. It''s five more oz. than the standard water bottle. And it''s the maximum height allowable in an upright water bottle cage to easily pull it out while pedaling. Nice colors, insulated and has "easy water access" via their patented water release mechanism. There''s no need to re-cap the top, it simply shuts off when you release from drinking! For several years Polar and Camelback insulated water bottles have been key components of my workout and cycling gear. After three years of use, my Polar insulated water bottle started leaking so I decided to give the Big Chill a try. While the Big Chill is a bit larger than my previous water bottles, I don''t see any major improvements in flow or insulation capabilities. It is a solid water bottle overall but I would prefer better insulation, even if it meant sacrificing capacity.In general, water bottles of this design are able to keep a 50/50 ice-water combination cold for several hours, such as 3 hours in a backpack before a workout and then an additional two during. Likewise, when cycling leisurely for 3+ hours during 75-85 degree heat, the contents stay cold. Problems arise when cycling in extremely hot (95+ degrees) weather. During the July 2012 heat wave where the temperatures were over 100 degrees, the Big Chill''s contents kept cool for less than two hours. Obviously, this is an extreme example but is something to keep in mind if you are going for long rides in hot weather.
Overall, I have been happy with Big Chill flow, contents and overall design. With a good cage, it has no problem staying on the bicycle. Moreover, it doesn''t leak (as of yet) so long as the cap is very tight. One tip for the Big Chill or other water bottles: get into the habit of always leaving it freezer when not in use even if you are in someone else''s house. The bottle can then be used for years without concern over bacteria or mold growth.

I bought the Camelbak Podium Big Chill 25oz bottle for the main purpose of taking to the Gym and on hikes. I have been very impressed with the durability (dropped numerous times) and the ease of flow. You can either squeeze the bottle practically anywhere to drink the water, or suck the water out. Both ways work very well so there are no problems there.The lock on top of the nozzle is a genius idea. This bottle will not spill if that lock is on. Even with the lock off, no water still escapes until you want to drink. I really only need to use the lock feature if I put it in a backpack during a hike to really be sure it won''t leak.
Design wise they really nailed it. Its easy to hold and this bigger 25oz bottle even allows you to jog with it. I don''t recommend it if you have smaller hands but I am an average size 6'' tall guy and I can jog a few miles holding it no problem. The water does stay colder longer as well and 25oz is the right amount for an hour or so workout.
It was worth every penny and I recommend you buy Camelbak as your next water bottle!

The water bottle is fine a basic plastic water bottle. The holder is connected to the bracket that attaches to the bike with about 4 very small spot welds. Needless to say after about a month, the holder broke off from the bracket. The water bottle is still good though, I just need to geta better holder.

I compared this to NEW Ultralight Travel Daypack / Backpack The Perfect Light Weight Daypack For Sightseeing, Hiking, Biking & Travel Super Durable & Comfortable Yet Only 6.5 oz and believe this is the better product. Its capacity is greater than stated, the fabric and construction is durable, and it folds flat and will fit in my pocket.
I bought the new version because a disintegrating chocolate bar left inside in the heat is going to require some major cleaning. The latest version is slightly improved -the back pocket (which is slightly smaller than the old version) now has a straight across zipper. The old pocket had a U-shaped zipper that you had to meticulously close at the risk of having things drop out without notice. The main pocket now has a small rain gusset covering the zipper -looks neater although I doubt whether it makes the bag significantly more waterproof. The fabric is non-waterproofed ripstop nylon, so if you drop it in the lake, it may float for a while, but things inside are going to get wet. The shoulder straps are slightly improved and are now made of more breathable mesh.
The best part is that it weighs nearly nothing and will pack into a small zippered pocket the size of a pack of cigarettes. I personally think that it is ridiculous to spend $70 $100 bucks on a day pack that has 17 pockets, a 1 gallon water bottle pocket, and an ice axe loop just to go to the store or to work. If I''m going 15 miles from the trail head and heading for the alpine meadows, sure, I want a technical day pack or better. But for running around town, this is great.
Minor beef: I ordered this in blue, got black instead. Not worth exchanging, but be aware. Also Amazon may be displaying the wrong picture. This does not look like a duffel, but is a day pack.

This is a great extra day bag. LIGHTWEIGHT was a priority.Not good as a full time backpack, that is not what is intended.
Useful for extra stuff or day trips, not a lot of pockets, but good total room inside.

My daughter got me a SIGG water bottle. I wanted to get the cleaning tablets, brush and another cap, just in case the one I have on bottle gets "misplaced" like many things tend to do.I found this one and the standard cap that comes with the SIGG water bottle. I decided to try this one because every time I went to take a sip I would have to unscrew the cap and put the ring on cap over my index finger so I didn''t drop it! I am so glad I did! It took me a couple of minutes to "get" how it worked. With a little pressure, the water comes out just right. and being able to drink without having to unscrew the lid is great. It is easy to take apart to wash it and the colors are great. The actual colors are very representative to the real colors.
Also I am kind of "klutzy" but with this cap no worry about spills.

I bought my Sierra cup at my local outdoor gear store. It''s easy to understand why this same design has withstood the test of time when so many other products have come and gone over the years.Though intended for camping, I use mine at home as well. It''s my offical ice cream bowl because it frosts up and holds in the cold considerably better than my Correll bowls. It says on the package that you can use it as a small cook pot as well, though I haven''t tried that.
A single Sierra cup performs equally well for both drinking and eating, and I use mine for both to minimize my gear on camping trips. If you''re doing ultra-light hiking, titanium is lighter and even tougher. This one is well worth its price, though. It will last a lifetime, and it''s still pretty light, especially if it''s the only dish/bowl/cup you carry.
I''m giving it four stars because the wire handle, while basically sturdy, could be a bit stouter.

Update: The stainless steel has started to discolor from wear and washing (and I use only Seventh Generation natural dish detergent). Anyway, it''s not something that affects the usefulness of the product, but I thought I''d share this observation in case someone was wondering about the quality of the stainless. Like they say, "You get what you pay for." For around , the discoloration is tolerable, eh? :)
