I don''t understand all the negative stuff about this company and bottle. Granted I bought it from woot for only $10 for 2 of them, which was a steal.

But my caps fit fine. Sure they are loud but who cares? I usually open the cap to drink out of them anyway since I think it looks silly for an adult to be sucking on a bottle :)

As near as I can tell the company is out of business so it is probably just as well and for $10 the Klean Kanteens look a lot better but if you happen to see these are an overstock site and they are less than $10 each, I think they are really good for that price.

Don''t use a dishwasher to wash these. Before using it, I washed it in the dishwasher and the cap just falls off now and does not stay inside the canteen. It seems that either the bottle neck grew or the plastic cap shrunk. Very disappointed and the website ecocanteen.org is nonexistent.

Nice design, great price, but the wrong material. I''ve been using this bottle for the whole summer, and there is still a metalic taste. I think the wrong stainless steel was use to make the bottle. I''ve spent alittle more money and bought another makes insulated stainless steel water bottle and don''t regret it (no metalic taste and not sweating on the outside with ice cubes.)

The bottle is just steel, the cap can leak, the issue with it, now that I bought one and can see it, is that there is an air inlet. Because the steel will not squeeze like plastic they made an air inlet so you can still suck the water out. The inlet dosent leak new, but that is a source of leakage if that is a concern, like for campers wanting to stick it in the tent or something.

The air inlet is a small hole with some silicone or plastic grommet poking through that works like a 1-way valve, letting air in, but not letting water out. The grommet is round inside and has a tab that pokes out, very small, but if the inlet tab is touched it could open enough to let water leak out.

Be sure to get a standard cap if you want to store it in your gear.
