I purchased this set-up to mount on the back of my triathlon bike while training for an Ironman. I currently have a speedfil bottle and a aero bar mounted bottle, but was looking for an option behind the seat as well, as I was running low on water during really long rides. I have an ISM Adamo saddle, and this set-up mounted quickly (in about 2 mintues) and has held very secure since I put them on. I used a little drop of lock tight on the threads, as I had read other reviews that said the mounting bolts loosened up, and have had no problems. I am unable to use the mini bag that comes with due to the angle and position of the adamo seat rails (no trunk really works), but the cages are in the perfect position. So happy I found this set-up!

The product wouldnt have worked as they claimed on my saddle. However I was was able to adapt it to work. I had to use the profile bracket with the exwing bottle holders and pack to make it work, but in the end it works and that is all that matters. I tried it for the first time yesterday in 110 degree temps in high humidity here in Phoenix and I am glad I had it! I would say to anyone thinking about buying one make sure there is enough space on the sadle bar before you buy. At least an inch of upward angle or you will be disapointed. That is the only reason I gave it 3 stars.

Full disclosure: I mounted this on the back of my Cervelo P3 w/ fi''zi:k Arione Tri2 saddle.

The mini-wing attached to my saddleposts as advertised, but I discovered the pouch that came with it was so small as to be basically worthless for holding any sort of repair kit. You can forget about stuffing a spare tube in there. My biggest gripe was that since you''re mounting the bracket on a cylindrical saddlepost, there is nothing to prevent it from rotating around that post with even the most minimal pressure. Therefore on rides of an hour or longer, invariably the bottle cage would rotate forward and I''d start bumping it with the back of my thigh. This was fixed easily enough by reaching back and pushing it back to the rear position, but it was annoying and sure enough, after another half hour or so, I''d feel it again and I had to repeat the process.

Another gripe was the placement of the mouonting bolts. You mount the brackets to the saddleposts and then you mount the actual bottle cage to each of the two brackets. This makes sense, but the bottle cage covers the bolt that mounts the bracket to the saddlepost. Twice on long rides, I''ve had the bolt vibrate loose and fall off the back of the bike. I''ll stop and pick it up, but because of the complicated nature of how it mounts, I can either spend 10 minutes or so messing with the bolts to disassemble the whole thing and then put it back together again or else I just stuff the whole contraption into my jersey pouch and deal with it when I get back to my car. I''ve actually gotten pretty comfortable with riding with a bottle stuffed in my jersey pouch, but it''s not exactly conducive to the aero position. I suppose I could disassemble the whole thing and re-tighten all the bolts before every long ride, but who wants to deal with all that?

I''ll probably end up buying the full X-Lab carbon wing once I determine whether these bottle cages are compatible with the full wing. That way at least this purchase won''t have been a complete waste of money.

Although slightly difficult to install, the product works well. Used in conjunction with frame bottles I was able to carry 4 bottles in two century rides and eliminate at least two rest stops.

I bought this set up for only one reason, and that is that I just think a bike looks better without water bottles on the frame. Simple enough. That being said I''ve been pretty happy with it. Sure the bolt on one cage bracket did come loose after about 400 miles of riding but that happens with everything. Yes, when I nail a hole in the road on 110 psi 23c tires a bottle may fly out but you can always upgrade to the better holders. As far as the previous review saying you can''t fit anything in the pouch, I completely disagree. While it is a tight fit I store an extra tube, a park tool (with chain tool), a park super patch kit, 3 park tire levers, 2 co2 canisters, and an inflator head. It''s certainly not an extremely high end product, but that is why it costs $50.
