I use it daily for college and for short hiking trips. The backpack is rugged and built like a tank. Camelbak only uses the best materials when it comes to their military line of backpacks. They are a far cry from the consumer level stuff they also sell. The front pocket has slots for pens, notepads, calculators, etc. Excellent for school. The large hydration sack included with the bag in the rear of the pack is also very useful. It has a dedicated compartment that doubles up as a Netbook storage pouch if you opt to take the water sack out.
My only complaint with this backpack is the amount of sweat that collects along your back when worn for long periods of time while active and running around. It''s a problem with almost every backpack but the only reason I mention it is because some Camelbaks implement their air circulation system that allows air to pass between your back and the pack. Mine doesn''t have this considering it''s age. I''m not certain if they changed this since there are no photos of it''s back side, but the bottom line is this:
This is the best backpack I have ever purchased. Buy it.I anxiously waited for this pack for 3 whole days!! It finally came today. I had a difficult time finding reviews online for this pack. I web-shopped for different packs for 3 weeks or so and finally decided to take the plunge with this one. Sure glad I did. I have not had a chance to use it yet but at first glance, what a great pack!! I have the Camelbak BFM which is too large for every day use. This pack is the perfect size for every day use. Small enough that it is not too bulky and annoying. Large enough to pack essentials for a good day long hike. Very sturdy and well made. Very comfortable to wear. The perfect pack to take on a long hike in the wild, lunch and some tackle and head down stream, a bike ride down the rail trail, go Geocaching with, haul a few college text books to class, search and rescue team missions, or throw your lunch in and head to the office. This pack covers it all!! I would definately recommend this pack to anyone.I have had this pack for a number of years and I have to say it is one of the most durable and resilient packs I have ever used. I''m hard on my stuff and have used a number of packs over the years. None have performed as well as at this one. It is the perfect size; not too big to be cumbersome but not so small that I can''t carry everything I need. You also don''t have to worry about this pack giving out midway through your adventure. Nothing is worse than having a strap break, a tear in your pack when your sliding down a rock face, etc. This pack is tough. It does as well on the trail as it does in the amusement parks as I''m sure it does in the most remote places on this planet. While I''m not an international adventurer, if I were, I''d have this on my back.
