Closure Cap (Pack of Two)

Purchased a 2-pack of these caps for a couple platypus hydration systems I have laying around. The caps are good quality(like everything made by platypus) and fit perfectly. I have two minor complaints, however:

First, $6+ for a couple caps is kind of ridiculous. luckily, I found the same item at my local RE-eye yesterday for less than $3. Other selling options on Amazon.com have them for less, but with shipping added it''s more.

Second, the picture clearly shows a WHITE cap. The ones I got yesterday were CLEAR. Not a big deal because I actually like the clear better, but if you have your heart set on white you may be disappointed. Again, I got this at another retailer so Amazon.com may actually have white ones. The actual packaging I have for mine, however, shows a white cap when there are clear ones in the plastic. Just thought you should know! Jae

Outside of the price being a bit of a gouge, not Amazon''s fault, this item is a must have for those who use Platypus products. In particular, when filtering water out of an underground stream in Alaskan that was only accessible from the surface in a few locations, I let my buddies Platypus closure cap slip from my grasp and it instantly vanished in the small hole we were filtering water from. This particular individual I was with is one of my closest friends, but when he seen I was responsible for losing his only water bottle lid, and we had about 50 miles of foot travel left, the expression on his face left me a little concerned for my safety in the Alaskan outback. Fortunately for me, I had purchased a pack of caps, they come in packs of two, and was able to produce a replacement cap for his water bottle...Don''t be without these replacement caps if you journey very far of the beaten paths. I also dropped my Platypus bottle from a considerable height not many years ago, and it couldn''t have landed any squarer on a rock than it did. The full Platypus survived without injury but the cap was crack as a result of the impact. I was able to duck tap the cracked lid until I was able to get to my pack to retrieve the other spare I had.
