Hydro Flip Lid

The drinking hole fits a straw (make it an extra long one) perfectly and keeps it from slipping down inside the flask. Love it!

I upgraded my rating of this lid after using it with the 40 oz wide mouth Hydro Flask. I love it. It works well with both hot and cold liquids. Sloshed it around in a backpack for 2 days of training and not one leak or spill. The flow is fine for both hot and cold. The lid snaps closed nicely. Highly recommended for 40oz or smaller.

I got this lid for my 64 oz Hydro Flask Growler and I would say it could use a bit of improvement:

Pros:

allows easy access to sip from your wide mouth Hydro Flask

Cons:

*You have to check very carefully after you screw the lid on to make sure it is seated correctly, otherwise it will leak.

*The flow rate could be higher (I know this is designed for hot liquids, so it''s probably a safety issue)

*No handle, loop or strap. This may not be as much of an issue for the smaller flasks, but the growler needs some sort of handle to facilitate easier carrying.

Overall I think the lid is OK, but there are some significant improvements that would make it great.

Great little addition to my coveted Hydroflask. I finally gave in and spent the money on the Hydroflask. I opted for the 40 oz since I teach and practice Bikram Yoga. It''s perfect. Keeps the water nice and cold (or cool depending how much ice I put in). The cap makes it more convenient to sip the water.

If you''re getting the hydro flask wide mouth drinking bottle, you will want this to conveniently access the water. It is high quality (like the bottle) and I think it will last quite a while.

I have used the Kleen Kanteen bottles for many years and have used their sip lids but have always hated the rotating closure mechanism. This Hydro Flask lid is so much simpler and easier to clean. It also gives a far better liquid flow compared to the Kleen Kanteen one. The fluid will flow out almost as fast as you can drink it. This is not a leak proof lid but it seals very well, again, far better than the Kleen Kanteen lid. Overall this is a great lid unless if you need complete leak proofness. I originally starting using this brand because of the larger bottle sizes available but will probably switch over even my small bottles because of this lid.
