A few tips on using it:
1. Don''t close the lid too tightly. If the lid is closed so tightly that it becomes air-tight, then the tap can''t dispense water.
2. After receiving the product, make sure that the dispensing-tap is tightly screwed in. I had to turn it one whole turn. Unless that tap is very tightly in place, water may leak from the base/gasket joint.
3. This is the only complaint that I have here: although the tap dispenses water if you either "lift" or "press" the lever, it appears to be a better idea to use the "lift" mode and not the "press" mode. I used it by pressing for the first 3-4 weeks, but then water started dripping from the tap slowly. Once I switched to lifting the lever, it''s doing fine ever since.Lasted about a year until the nozzle started to leak. I got 2 replacement valves but they still leaked. Not next to the bottle (the seal was easy to tighten) but the actual spout would just drip on the floor. Decided on a different model for replacement.

I just received my order and right out of the box, the bottles seem very good. It''s not the thick grimy plastic. I will clean and pour my emergency water in soon. The only major concern I have right now... nowhere does it state it''s "BPA Free", or even mention of the issue on the bottle. I went to Blue Wave Bottles website and they state the following:"...we continue to firmly believe in the safety of our polycarbonate products."
Unfortunately, I''m not as informed about BPA products as I would like at this point. The site explains BPA is necessary in all plastic production. Heck, it''s in your canned food. Perhaps I''m being a nervous Nellie for nothing. I don''t know.
Also, these bottles are made in China.

Got this a few weeks ago. So good so far. Sturdy. Haven''t seen any leakage with the valve like other reviews yet. The only thing I suggest is, always wash and rinse before using anything. When I first went to fill this at a natural spring, I noticed some particles floating in it. At first I thought it was a bug or something, but upon closer inspection, it was a piece of plastic. Seeing as how, I was stupid and took it right from the box and started filling it, I don''t think anything else could have gotten in there. The spring was a natural underground spring, and I doubt the piece of plastic could have come from there, because the other bottles I filled were crystal clear. My only conclusion would be; it had to have been a left over piece from the manufacturing process. I had to pour the whole thing out and refill :(. ONCE AGAIN ALWAYS WASH AND RINSE BEFORE USING!Want Bluewave BPA Free 5 Gallon Big-Mouth with Valve Reusable Water Bottle Discount?
Works great if you don''t screw the lid on tightly. When I first purchased the water bottle it leaked but I just needed to screw the spout a little tighter. After using it for about a year, the spout started leaking (and couldn''t be fixed) so I replaced it with the Bluewaver Replacement Water Crock Faucet/Spout/Valve also sold on Amazon. It was an easy replacement and once again it works perfectly. I also purchased the 3 gallon water bottle which I use to refill this 5 gallon bottle (5 gallons of water is too heavy for me to carry).
