This water bottle fit perfectly in my child''s lunch bag (7.25 inches tall x 3 inches around). When closed properly we have had no leaks. It is a little hard to close because the rubber seal that prevents the leaks requires you to push down with more pressure than a child may be used to, and there is not a real audible "click" to know it''s snapped shut. The latch is a small piece of plastic that looks like it could wear out over time, but there is also a wire bail to help secure the lid tight. A 5 year old can manage closing the lid but a 3 year old can not. Much easier to clean than a bottle with a straw. Also very durable with no cracks or leaks after lots of drops. I took off one star because I think the latch should have been made with a better "snap" for kids to know they''ve gotten closed it tight. Overall I''m very happy with the bottle.

My husband gets mad at me because I keep buying water bottles for our kid. That''s because all of the water bottles I''ve seen out there has some sort of flaw. Some leak, some are too hard to open for the child. I can''t buy the glass ones because I''m afraid my 6-year-old would drop it. I like to be able to see through the bottle to know the height of the liquid so I can''t buy the Kanteen ones. I feel this newly designed bottle from Nalgene ends that search. The screw-on top makes it easy for parents to pour the liquid into the bottle, and the child does not have to unscrew the bottle to drink out of it. The child just has to push the button and the lid flips open. The lid also snaps close, and there is a handy metal lock to ensure closure. Nalgene really put some thought into this design. Well done Nalgene!

This bottle is good for older children, maybe 5+. It seals very well and won''t leak in their bag when closed properly, but it is not leak proof when they drink from it. This is definitely not like a sippy cup. The spout is open, like the top of a soda bottle, so make sure they know how to drink from something like that without spilling. The latch on the lid may be difficult for some smaller children to use. Very easy to clean, no hidden nooks and crannies, no valves to lose, and nearly impossible to break.

This water bottle works great for my 4 year old. It''s a little hard to close, but she''s getting the knack of it. Shipping for $10 is crazy to me...we bought ours at Target for $9.99.

First of all the design is SO cute. My daughter is currently obsessed with owls and purple is her favorite color of course this was a no-brainer for her school water bottle this year.
As for the brand I have to say they are my favorite water bottle manufacture....ever. I have purchased MANY sippie cups and water bottles over the years with 4 kids. Nalgene is the best so far for me. They do not leak (they are places on their sides in the lunchboxes) and keep the water cool (on hot days I will freeze 1/4 of the bottle the night before).
I expect this to last multiple years no more cheap bottles for us. I will spend the money and get a good one to LAST!
