I have two of these bottle cages on my road bike and they work great. I use Camelbak Podium Chill bottles and they fit very securely. I am trying to get my bike as light as possible and found this bottle cage. I could only find a couple of carbon fiber cages that weigh 3-4 grams less but cost $60-$70. For this price you almost have to get these bottle cages if you are a weight-weenie on a budget!

I''ve put my old bottle cage to my wife''s new bike and decided to buy something light and nice looking. I haven''t bought it online or I would be aware of the problem -Chris mentioned in his review that it''s difficult to remove the bottle.

I tried to use sportsbasement bottles, then I bought Camelbak -the same problem. It''s an achievement to get the bottle out. And it''s very annoying. Bottles are all in scratches now. I''ve paid $30 for the pair. It isn''t so cheap so I was hoping to have better quality. My previous cage is twice as cheaper and very easy to use.

Having used this cage for about a month now, I''m happy with it but find that it is a bit difficult to get the water bottle out of the cage. Sharp design and light weight are nice and are a fraction of the cost of carbon cages. The trade-off is that the skinny holder arms grip tight onto the bottle, making it comparatively difficult to remove and restore the bottle, especially while biking but also when you''re not on the bike. This will of course vary with your bottle for reference, mine is a Camelbak insulated model.

I got two of these for free from my LBS with a bike. As other reviewers have mentioned, these have very positive retention and will scratch up your bottles (or as I prefer to think of it, gently "texturize" your bottles for better grip). Bottles do go in easier than they go out. If the tightness of your bottle cage makes a huge difference one way or the other as far as riding goes, it''s probably time to work on your bike handling skills. The plastic does feel torsionally flimsy and although they''ve lasted a few hundred miles now I can see how a person could snap one, especially if they struggle getting the bottle straight back into the cage. Again, if that''s an issue it might be time to work on your bike handling skills. If you crash, you will almost definitely snap one. IMO, you have way bigger problems on your hands after a crash than a snapped cheapo bottle cage, so again a non-issue for me. The biggest PROS: super light and you will NOT lose a bottle. I leave full bottles in my cages with the bike flipped over to work on it. Where they goin''? Nowhere! Overall, these are a good value if you can get them on Amazon for $10, but there are better (read "sturdier") options, especially if weight is not a consideration, in the $15+ range.
