The product is exactly what it says it is. It''s the standard size top that comes on all the bottles and the straw is sized for the 1L bottle. As for the people complaining about the length... have you ever heard of scissors? There''s even a guide on the back of the packaging to help you figure out how much to cut.

It''s kind of annoying that these are necessary, but unless you are really vigilant on cleaning the straw or bite valve on camelback bottles they can get gunky in a way that seems difficult impossible to fix once it gets to that point. But, it''s nice that you don''t have to buy an entirely new bottle when that happens.

Many reviews have said that the straws are too long. However, the straw is designed to work with multiple sizes and be cut to fit whatever size bottle you actually use. There is a guide in the packaging that shows exactly how long the straw should be for each different size bottle. Cutting the heavy duty straws isn''t easy, but it''s certainly possible.

This replacement should work for all but the small kids bottles that have a different type of bite valve.

How could something possibly go wrong? I don''t know, but I cut a slit in one of these (they don''t come with the slit to drink through) and it went perfectly. The valve seals completely and I can actually still see the liquid in it. When I went to cut the second one (same extremely sharp pointy knife, same method, etc) instead of cutting a nice straight slit the rubber cracked in a jagged way that doesn''t seal now. Not really sure why they don''t cut them from the factory...
