Very, very light
Good air circulation on waist mesh
Bottle stays in place with loop that goes around the bottle''s spout
I use my own 24 oz bottle Polar Insulated Water Bottle, so can''t vouch whether the bottle that comes with the pack leaks or not, but it looks pretty ok
Evenly balances your hike as it sits right in the middle across your lower waist/hip I wear it right under my hip bones so it straps around the top of my shorts and feels non-existent
Getting the bottle in and out is no probs at all .. quick and clean
I like one bottlesideways better than two bottles on the sides
Cons
The photo must be a different model there''s no zipper/compartment on the body top ... there''s a tiny zippered compartment on the right side panel
The compartment is too small for a smartphone/iphone/android it fits a large ignition key, a credit/ATM card, and cash (too small for an energy bar)
The 2nd photo is also not borne out the inner back is all mesh (though I like this better)
The quality is fine for $10, actually a pretty good deal, but it''s more of a boy/girl scouts camping quality, not a higher end product like Osprey or High Sierra
They could have easily added a compartment on the left panel as well, and made both compartments a little larger to fit a smartphone and an energy bar. I carry my android in Blue Comfy Sport band / Workout Armband Adjustable Neoprene Velcro Strap For LG Cookie Lite Optimus One 3D Black Me Viewty Snap GM360 Thrill 4G GT540 OPTIMUS GD880 Touch OPTIMUS Sol OPTIMUS Hub Enlighten Esteem Marquee OPTIMUS Net + Includes an eBigValu... ... and am ok with that in the USA, but wouldn''t expose my android like that while international backpacking.
Conclusion: It''s great for hiking, not that great for competitive running (ok for casual running) as it''ll bob just a bit on your waist/hip. I was intrigued that Wenzel is able to sell travel backpacks in the $30-50 range Wenzel Escape Large Internal Frame Pack (Grey), and tried out this waist pack to get a feel for their product quality. I have no problem with this waist pack, though I wish the picture was not misleading... I had looked forward to having the large zippered compartment that the photo suggests. The quality is decent, but I wouldn''t buy a Wenzel backpack to take to South America although I would take this waist pack, especially since it''s extremely lightweight. All in all, I''m happy with the waist pack, especially since it''s downright hard to find such products on amazon ... there are a number of running waist packs, but not nearly any for lightweight single-bottle hiking. If you''re a leisure hiker, buy without any qualms.I let Amazon know this months ago but the picture and description for this item are outdated. There is no easy MP3 access pocket anymore. So it''s not functional anymore. Very bulky too and moves around a lot as you run. I ended up going with a handheld bottle.
