Nathan 700ml Soft Touch Steel Bottle with Flip Straw, Blackthe flip up straw part was way too tight. it was hard to flip up and down and i didn''t like the way the clip was attached. when the straws up, the clip is down and when the clip is up, the straw is down. overall, it was the tightness of the switcheroo that turned me off. sent it back the day after i got it and exchanged it for a Camelbak. love my 32 ouncer of the same (camelbak) so i''ll stick with that brand.

I love this bottle. I use it every day. It is durable. The black coating is a big improvement over the metal. I bought two.

I was surprised at hard it was to drink from this versions straw. I just couldn''t understand it until I realized the one I was sent had a crack in the lid. I''m not sure if that effects the suction. I have a feeling if it wasn''t for the crack I''d love the bottle!

I have been through several bottles of various sorts that I use for bringing my water with me (somewhat trying to "help the environment" by not always buying a new plastic bottle, but also to save the cost of having to always buy a new plastic bottle) wherever I go. I have always been disappointed by the choices I have found... before now. In the past I tried Nalgene bottles, sports bottles, screw top metal bottles, etc. but each one always had something I didn''t like made the water stinky after a while, was too hard to clean (i.e. wouldn''t go in a dishwasher), didn''t close properly causing unwanted spills, on and on I could go. Then I found a bottle with a great name on it, Nathan (yes that is my name too, I may be biased I know). At first, I saw that it was metal and thought, "oh great, another bottle I have to wash by hand"... wait, what''s this, it is dishwasher safe?! Well, ok, but what about this straw... straws never work in these kinds of bottles, they are always to hard to drink out of, or just don''t work well but after trying out this straw, I''m a fan! No longer need to waste excess energy to lift the bottle high enough to get the water out, just suck away and the large opening straw has a great flow rate. I love the flip up/down style of the straw, this helps prevent leaks, which I definitely appreciate since my 2.5 year old likes to take my water bottles and play with them once in a while. This leads me to another point, the bottle seems fairly sturdy although with the version I got (Black Matte Soft Touch), I have already noticed when the bottle has been dropped a couple times (by above mentioned son) it has already scratched off some of the matte surfacing to reveal a shinier metal underneath. This is not a big deal to me, but may be to others. Add on top of the flip up/down straw top (which I like how it works so that you don''t actually bend any straw part or anything) is the key holder ring. I don''t use it for keys much, although I can see the potential, but it does serve as a way to hold the bottle or possibly even click the bottle to a bag especially when the bag I am carrying does not have a bottle holder in it, I like this part. One last aspect I like about this bottle, is it has a good volume to it, I drink a lot of water and with other bottles I have tried they are almost always just the wrong size so that I run out of water too quickly. This bottle seems to hold a more adequate amount without being too bulky (fits in most cup-holders, although likes to tip over when in my Scion xB cup-holder).

All in all, I really like this bottle. I feel like I have finally found one that will meet my needs and desires in a bottle. In fact, when I have the money I plan to buy another so I can have more than one on hand to use regularly.
