It does it''s job, but it''s pretty thick and heavy and bulky. Seems like they could have still insulated it but made it thinner and lighter (like the insulated camel back bottles).

After using this bottle I don''t know why they even sell the other one. If you ever ride for more than an hour and expect your drink to stay cool then you need this bottle. The only thing the clear bottle has on this one is weight and I''ll gladly give up a few ounces for a drink that is refreshing.

Once you get over the shock of the size of this [insulated] bottle, you find it''s very functional. Aerodynamic, adjustable straw length, and ability to refill on the go with a regular drink bottle are its great features.

I would caution that its size could potentially cause some problems with cables depending on how yours are routed on the front side of your handlebars. I have a brake cable that can get around to the front of the bottle when installed, but it would only be a problem (and binding the cable) if the wheel is turned beyond 45 degrees or so. Luckily that should only occur when going very slow or walking the bike.

Overall a great product and it will turn a few heads--and most importantly keep you from fumbling with regular bottles at full speed.

This is great for long distance rides. I do a lot of long distance rides and it''s so nice to be able to just bend down and take a sip when needed. I don''t know if I''ll use it in a tri again. It''s very heavy and I felt that it may have slowed me down.
