Version 1.0 had terrible flow, made intolerable amounts of noise, and seemed to enjoy leaking. All in all not terribly functional nor appreciated by those around you when drinking.
Version 2.0 brought a revolution in terms of flow, making it easy to drink from. The noise was reduced from intolerable levels to "only mildly embarrassing in a public setting", and by loosening the cap you could avoid nearly all noise. Not ideal to have to twist the cap before drinking, but better.
Then came version 3. The flow? Excellent. The water is practically jumping out of the bottle to hydrate you. The sound? Finally I can take a bottle equipped with the sport cap in public without getting funny looks from those around me, and I can use it in the middle of the night without waking up the house. Finally Klean Kanteen has hit the mark. Toss your old cap sport cap in your recycling bin and get Version 3 right now!I''m a long-time Klean Kanteen devotee, and I''m impressed that KK continued developement on their already adequate sport caps. As advertised, this cap delivers water faster and more quietly than its predecessor, and has virtually no leaking. I''ll still be careful to keep the bottle upright, but when I turned a full bottle over above my hand and shook (with the valve shut), my hand stayed dry. Glad I took the leap and purchased the KK 3.0 sport cap.

This cap fits ALL Klean Kanteen bottles, not just "kids" sizes. The silicone valve and new design definitely leaks less than its predecessor, and is quieter with a faster deliverly of water, as advertised. Good for KK for continuing development on their sport caps. I certainly recommend this cap for KK owners! This cap is an improvement over the previous two models because the water actually can pour out quickly. The flow is slow for the first second or two, depending on how full the bottle is, but after that it flows freely too freely of you''re used to having to suck the water out. But once you catch on to the new action, this is an enjoyable way to slug down the juice. Best of all is that it does NOT leak if you screw the top on tightly and make sure to push the top down fully. The only negative in my experience is that it''s a little hard to know when you''ve pushed the cap all the way down using one hand because there is no easy "snap shut" tactile feedback. You have to just push down hard or look at the cap to make sure it''s all the way down; otherwise you might discover it wasn''t and you''ll get a wet surprise. Maybe some snap-shut feedback action will be their next improvement. Apparently such subtle refinements are made only incrementally at Klean Kanteen. No perfect cap before its time.Recently got this cap for my 27 oz reflect kanteen. Works great with no leakage yet and little noise. Perfect addition for my KK.
