I have had very little problems with these caps. I have an extreme arsenal of Kleen Kanteens, and have purchase a good assortment of caps for them. The very first one of these I got, ended up with water in it. This was likely due to the fact that someone put it in the dishwasher. Definitely a no-no. Since its replacement, I have been sticking with hand-washing and have not had much of a problem. Only thing I can recommend, if you''re using a cap for water, and one for coffee (on an insulated), be sure not to mix them up. The cap will keep a slight coffee smell. Also like the fact that the inside is steel, so no plastic touches your liquid.

The Cap itself is overal very good, no scratching, breaking or denting issues, if there is one thing to note however it is simply if the cap is kept anything BUT completely sealed (i.e. lock it till it dosen''t move an inch more) it might leak..and leak significantly, with that kept in mind the cap is perfect for carrying and every activity you plan to use it with your Klean Kanteen bottle.

This is a replacement cap because I put soda in my Klean Kanteen and when it exploded the ring came off been meanng to write to co. to ask if I can replace ring only. Kleen Kanteen products are terrific. My little canteen keeps my morning hot beverage hot all the way to work and then some. I am delighted.

I love klean kanteen bottles. Just spray them with a heat treatment and cooking with them is so easy. The replacment caps are a little pricey at 5 dollars a cap. That''s pretty much the same price as a regular stainless steal bottle. All in all though with a klean kanteen you may need to buy a cap once every two or three years.
