We own four of these water bottles. I was looking for a bottle that was strong, easy to clean (meaning, no small crevices that become grimy and can''t be reached by a scrub brush), did not use a straw to draw water out, and that closed securely to prevent spills. The Nalgene bottles answered our needs perfectly. We use these with children that are 4, 5-1/2, 7, and 8-1/2. The four-year-old forgets to close it up, etc. as 4-year-olds do, so they definitely require fine-motor-skills. The other children use theirs well; and all of the children love them. Me too! :)

It''s nice to have a truly leak proof bottle that you can put in a bag etc. that has a quick access top. It can be somewhat difficult for young kids (4 or under?) to open, but they get the hang of it.

Note: Make sure you verify that the lid clicks closed so you don''t end up with a spill.

I ordered two of these bottles on one particularly frustrating day when all of the various bottle parts and straws wouldn''t fit in the dishwasher baskets. And I was hand washing other pieces. These are still a little hard for my 3-year-old to close, so maybe wait until your kids are a little older. But that is my only complaint. It is a cool design, just the right size, not too heavy but not flimsy. Great kid''s water bottle.

This bottle is great. It has held up to a lot of abuse. It washes well and the design of the flip top is a hit! Also it''s made in the USA which is always a plus!
