excellent product, does what it is supposed to. serves me well while i am training, love the sleek design and color. great functioning product. If you know anything about Zipp you know they make high end cycling components and are magicians with carbon fiber. This bottle cage is no exception. I have a Trek Madone 6.9SSL with Zipp wheels and wanted lightweight carbon fiber cages. These are excellent, well designed, lightweight but not fragile, work well with my camelback podium or podium big chill bottles or others. The bottle hold is good but not so tight as to inhibit easy access or so loose that they rattle around. I have had a bottle pop out a couple of times but those were from big hits and twice in 10,000 km is not an issue. Drawbacks? None except cost, like most carbon fiber bits they are bloody expensive. Do they work any better that a good aluminum cage at a fraction of the cost? ... likely not but if you''ve got a high end carbon fiber race bike and you want lightweight carbon fiber bits to match then you likely aren''t on too tight a budget and these are for you. If you are looking for a high end carbon bottle cage for use on a ''cross bike or on rough roads/off-road I would recommend you look at something like the Arundel Mandible which I use on my Trek Cronus Ultimate CX bike both on and off road as the hold is more secure and the build a bit more "stout".
